Honestly, for a race with infinite body-mod capacity, beards seems so… pedestrian.
“Alright, what can I do for you? Fangs? Spikes? Bolts? Crazy eyes? Translucent slime tubes? Horn grafting? Nose removal? I could swap out your skull for any other you bring me. How about a nice set of giant insect mandibles with a fleshy lamprey proboscis?”
“I’ll just have a beard, please. And a warm glass of milk.”

It would make sense. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that hair and nails grow even after death.
Crazy unkempt beards would be a pretty racial feature.
I would love this! With their awful posture, facial hair is one thing that actually won’t be riddled by clipping issues!

They don’t, thats an old myth. What made people think that is the body tissue shrinking, exposing more of the hair nail bed.
