student discount what about a disabled pensioner discount ?
I’ve worked 16 years directly within the scope of my degree.
College is a waste of time if you either get a degree that is too specialized or one that is far too generic/popular.
and then
and then
and then
lol
“What about a discount for cross-eyed, peg-legged, left-handed Peruvian gas station attendants???”
I am soooo glad MMOs didn’t exist when I went to college.
That’s the other side of it. Sometimes it’s not a waste of money because you need it to get a job which gives you a living. But then it feels like you use very little of your specialized training. To be fair, maybe your training is so good that you don’t realize you’re using the logic and techniques you learned in school because they’re just second-nature to you.
Only on the 7th Monday of the month .
These players are more likely to be be careful raiders. ![]()
I do like this idea, however I think the easier way around this would just to offer an entirely F2P model that doesn’t cut players off at level 20.
How about work on a bigger issue, like why people need a discount on things to begin with.
As entertainment goes WoW is on the extremely cheap side, maybe pick something that’s actually over priced, like education.
WoW came out when I was in college. 2/3 of my dorm floor was in the same guild.
I was the last man alive during the guild’s first Rag kill. Dropped him with a mind blast. Everyone was just running room to room to cheer on the people still alive. You’d think I just won a championship.
I really wish I could go back in time.
Well that one’s easy. People keep quitting wow and not being replaced.
I doubt a discount without game changes is going to fix it, but heck, a family plan is worth a try after every other discount, mount or special offer Blizzard has tried.
How about mimic the insurance companies and give discount rates for good behavior.
Wow, that story makes me smile. WoW came out when I was in college too, but I remember Halo 2 being a really big deal on campus. Similar story though, you could hear people yelling down the halls and cheering if their team won.
Good times.
I don’t think there is concern for player numbers. The only reason that even comes up is due to very very old data from Wrath. The gaming industry has gone sky rocket since then, there is no way to have those numbers ever again.
If college players wanted to play WOW they would.
You aren’t going to have much time when you graduate either…
I think I’d rather see the game die than play with them anyway.
In a way this is true. I’m seeing it happen with all of my other favorite MMO’s. They’re old and so are the people playing it. One of them is 25 years old and it’s still online.
It’s not necessarily a bad thing to not have a ton of new players and it’s not really realistic either. WoW is still a big hitter for Blizzard, they continue to develop new content and find ways to make money with fewer players. Just because we don’t have the same number that we did during Wrath, doesn’t mean the game is not doing well.
WoW will be fine. I know this because UO is fine, EQ is fine and DAoC is fine and Blizzard is still putting a lot of money towards WoW.
In-case Cerkov edits it a million times.
