►Change "Aerial Halt" skyriding ability to let you hover◄ √

You can even balance it with a cost of 6 vigor to use and preventing vigor recharge until you cancel it.

Adding ‘hover’ would completely negate the whole point of why they introduced Dragonriding/skyriding in the first place. It was meant to be more engaging with the world. They did not want more instances of people hovering, finding their quest target and landing for the kill to take off afterwards. You’re meant to engage with the world. Not the opposite according to Blizzard. So I do not think they will add Hover. I have no particular opinion on this one way or another, so do not take this as some kind of attack. But you’re request is likely going to fall on deaf ears.

SImple fix:
Use the “switch flying style” button. Thereʻs your hover

They’re just one of the forum contrarians who pick fights in almost every thread. They can be harmlessly ignored.

switching flight styles in flight would be awesome…

Well that’s all the reason they need to not do it.

Is it, or is it just frowned upon?

uh, no.

1 reason why and it’s all it’ll take. If we cant Aerial Halt then I can no longer say, a lot, a real lot, “…gunna hit the brakes and he’ll fly right by.”

That single line is content for me. So no.

Give the fast drakes hover? not gunna happen.

That’s not the only reason people use hover though, yeah?

Like, for me, I’ve got a Lot of health things going on, where I might need to physically get up and do joint stretches or to stretch internal scar tissue or whatnot.

Not all things are bad.

Yet for years their argument of staticflight and why it was put behind a pathfinder achievement was for people to slow down and look at the hard work they did in the zones to explore them more and see everything.

Mothers with small children, pets that need to go outside, burning food… There are a thousand reasons why hover is not only wanted, but necessary.

I get that. I have several health issues that require me to take breaks. I don’t think that will change much with Blizzard’s stance though.

Yep. Mainly because ever since TBC people have used Static/Steady flying to speed through content, then complain to Blizzard that there isn’t enough content. Some, not all, even sending threats to Blizzard over this. I can’t really blame Blizzard for their stance. :dracthyr_shrug: Usually when my hands start shaking and spasming I just hearth and take a break.

Doesn’t it already hover when using Aerial Halt? Or do you mean permanently?

If I am reading things right they want a Steadyflying version of hover for Skyriding.

permanently enter hover in place instead of being just air breaks.

indeed hovering is a very convenient safely AFK feature

It’s also great for popping open your map while in the air, reading through some quests logs, sorting items in bags while in the sky, not having to land and swap between static or skyriding, and not having to worry about crashing into trees, mountains, other static objects, mobs, or fly way out past fatigue areas on accident.

There’s the truth. Still, good luck op. If people keep making threads about flying I am sure Blizzard will… do what they do, when they do it, whatever it is. Which could, and mostly likely will, be nothing. But good luck anyway!

Nice! But personally…

Im not the greatest at the game but im usually competent enough that i can keep Skyriding with my map open.

Ill save those for when i land somewhere safe.

Skill issue honestly. If we are this far into Dragonflying/Skysliding or whatever its called and you STILL crash into stuff…
