“We want loot to be meaningful again”

The whole point of this is to slow down gearing so that people stayed subbed.

that’s why unsub and let them know the meaningfulness of lesser revenue.

BC still had the best loot system imo. Badges helped offset RNG and loot still had an identity instead of a generic name coupled with generic stats.

I started in tbc so I didn’t get to experience the loot system there but I played through wrath when it was current and the badge system was nice. It helped alot especially when I was pulled in as a pug for icc and got screwed because of master loot. They gave loot even if I won the roll to thier buddies or guildies and said my only reward was getting to go to the raid. That was pure crap. I even liked legion/bfas loot system. I didn’t care if the stats were perfect or not. I just liked getting loot and not having my time wasted.

No sir… that IS the argument. You spend very little time at a plateau where you can enjoy the feeling of being well geared. This is exacerbated by mobs scaling to our level.

When you climb a mountain, you don’t get there all in one go. You set goals to reach each camp… and when you get there… you make camp, rest a few days and celebrate your accomplishments.

But WoW isn’t a mountain… it’s a hamster wheel. No camps, no celebrations… just doing the same thing over again for meaningless “progression”…

You don’t measure success… you count repetitions. It used to be way different.

I’m pretty certain they are going off statistics and made up their mind from a handful of the employee’s that brought it up to come up with what they did.

I think there is a balance to be met and right now they swung too far where FOR ME AT LEAST, seems to be awfully unrewarding for my time spent.

But surely the useless currency you got instead was fullfilling? Because you “got something”.

What if you run it 3 more times and only get 1-2 more pieces of loot, one of them is a duplicate and the other is a side grade. Going to still be enjoying it?

My guild did an optional normal raid Fri / Sat due to the holiday so didn’t have our normal numbers. It felt really bad when we downed a boss and only got one maybe two items each boss.

M+ is even worse. Amount of items dropping pending if you key it or not is too low. It should be min 2 items and go up by 1 pending how much you plus’d the key. Really feels like bad when you run 10 keys in a day and get zero loot.

This new system is horrible and I feel its the biggest downfall to Shadowlands in general.

20+??

I no lifed it this week and ran almost 50 M+'s and I’ve seen 3 pieces of loot. But hey, at least I’ll get 1 piece from my vault for all of that work.

Lol… I’m at 24 runs and 2 useful pieces.

I can’t really say if loot feels meaningful. At least, without qualifying/defining meaningful. I get an upgrade, my character gets stronger. In that aspect loot feels meaningful and has always been meaningful.

The shower of loot from last expansion overloading me with loot I didn’t want/need simply so it could be fodder for a “scrapper” did have a dulling (for want of a better word) effect. I got desensitized to the receiving of gear because it was so common of an occurrence.

So there is an argument to be had about the frequency of that occurrence. For my part; when I get an upgrade and my character is stronger, it’s always felt meaningful. My experience of the current system is it feels a lot like hunting for better gear in BC/Wrath era. Whether that’s good or bad is most likely a matter of opinion.

I’m just put off a bit by the emphasis or maybe it’s the obsession with iLvL number. Though I suppose it’s just the current “gear check” this game has always had in some form or another. (i.e. raderio, achievement, boss kill, etc.)

tldr; I’m mostly ambivalent. Generally it doesn’t bother me. I’m more focused on just playing and enjoying the content.

Exactly this.

Loot rates are obviously an issue… multiple posts a day about them.

I dunno it kinda worked. I get more excited now when I get an upgrade than ever but yeah I think they went too far

Cool. I also live in the US. No medical problems here…just a very bland diet to ensure look and feel my best.

You are incorrect on all points, and you lack the sack to admit when you are wrong. It is actually quite pathetic.

They just need to bring back valor and justice points.

They have. Next week covenant gear will be able to be upgraded to ilvl 197 which is roughly mythic 5. Farm anima, get welfare gear. That’s the token system in action and its already in the game.

Edit: its already in the game with currency-bought PVP gear that is competitive with raiding and M+.

Then blizz needs to raise the amount of anima we can get cause these trickles of it are stupid. Yes the lore of the shadowlands is theres an anima drought but when a covenant sanctum upgrade takes 15k and everything costs ridiculous amounts of anima theres a problem with the game aspect of that system.
