Fair point, but your shifting your goalpost now. Now your issue is with the lockout and not the content style.
New content is new content obviously. It’s new art assets, music and new encounters. The mechanics of wow stay the same because it’s still wow so that’s an odd take.
I don’t get the need for another iteration of something that already scales infinitely. This thread seems more like a stealth way to ask for rewards to scale beyond 20 which is no different than the threads asking for rewards to scale beyond 15 in Shadowlands.
If they added something like this then it should be like the Tourney Realm and be silo’d away from the rest of the game and have cool cosmetic rewards and titles attached.
No, I was asking for mythic+ scaling dungeons without the timer and I even said they could keep all the special rewards in the timed version.
You keep saying 1% but that’s simply not true.
It’s talking about a point that came up during the WoW community council.

If you don’t want to talk about something the WoW dev team has on their radar then you don’t have to come here and participate and n this thread.
I hate to break it to you but having a take IS talking about the subject even if it’s not what you want to hear.
Questioning the discussion value of the topic is not discussing the topic, that’s meta-discussion.
Ok, so we’re back on content style now. You can already do that. Just ignore the timer.
From your earlier data, you stated that this would start at +20 keys. Based on https://raider.io/mythic-plus/cutoffs/season-df-1/us data, +20’s in all keys is 2720 and accounts for 4.3% of the playerbase participating in M+. So at BEST we’re stratifying the top 4.3%. In reality though, a portion of that is going to not attempt this so… let’s be generous and say you keep half of the players… Heck let’s be even more generous and say it’s 75% of the player base at that level…
We’re further stratifying the top 3% of M+ players… not 1%… Really arguing them numbers there?
Something interesting is that Devs mentioned rewards but for lower score goals like 1400, since M+ lack that earlier goal, instead of mentioning that they’ve concerns about the top players.
I listened to the whole thing, I’m aware of what they said. Yes, they have concerns about low-end players in terms of easing them in and having early milestones and we will probably see that 1400 reward implemented in s3. But Morgan Day himself coined “Mythic Mythic Plus” and discussed some possible ways that might push out. Yes he avoided talking about rewards and that was… glaring to be honest, but from a content point of view it is on their radar.
Wrath is where I felt the game beginning to slip, too. But, you have something backwards. The vast majority of players don’t do m+ or raid. Those who do are just the vocal majority.
Why make a whole new mode and slate of mechanics? That’s a lot of coding.
Just make characters auto drop their clothing if they pick Mythic++ . The group runs the content in tabards only with a level 1 grey weapons. No trinkets, no gear bonuses. Just sheer player skill of using their class spells to the best of their abilities.
Rewards. A seasonal mount with the ability to fly, so the M++ crowd can flaunt it out of spite.
40% of players get AOTC. You can bet your bottom a heck of a lot more play keys. Wrong, wrong, giga-wrong. Lol.
Mog. I love bad a— armor sets and weapons. Id want more rewards for the content we do.
Questing is boring. I like m+ and have become meh on raiding.
Or They can focus on more end game stuff and then just make rewards for it.
Sure you can invest in the top echelon of one game mode or make a new mode that people can do. Idk guess more modes could dilute the others though
The those people are brain-dead hampters, trained to chase carrots on sticks.
Per raider.io over 6 million unique characters have done a mythic+ key so far in DF.
I understand some are alts, but if you’re saying the majority don’t do that content, (I.e. this number is a small fraction of the playerbase) WoW is doing insanely well.
LOL what? If I think it’s a waste of resources that’s discussing the subject.
I meant the part where you questioned the validity of this post by claiming it was “begging for loot” (even though Ion’s right hand man is the one who brought it up).
Yea, people try to remove the thing that sets wow apart, it’s end game
In early WoW I would have agreed end game was something a majority never experienced, but we are in the late maturation stage of this game and I’d argue the people who enjoyed end game were the ones most likely to stick around and may be the primary long haul audience.
Classic is the same way, it’s really hard to find level capped players in classic NOT in raid gear.
I also wish my forum avatar would stop being bugged ![]()
I questioned the validity of one part of the post
no matter the source. In particular your take that somehow adding more Affixes and mechanics would allow Blizz to have rewards to continue above 20 when the system already scales.
If you want a tourney realm with wacky affixes and that’s even harder than live M+ sure but we don’t need another gamified feature to distance WOW even more from its roots.
