What does Blizzard do when a game fails? They abandon it.
Time and again this happens. Sometimes the game doesn’t even release before abandonment. This ain’t coming back.

Nobody actually has any expectations, those were lost 2 years ago. It’s just a “would be nice if they did.”

It annoys me that so much effort went into essentially DOWNGRADING a classic. Those new menus look like some kind of mobile, casual trash. Those new models, textures and sounds look like they were made in a Chinese sweatshop for peanuts. Everything is WORSE than in TFT. Nothing is better. They took a cult classic and turned it into an UNPOLISHED turd. It’s lame.

I mean, “downgrading a classic” was never specifically the plan, it’s just what ended up happening due to mismanagement and apathy from Blizzard’s parent company Activision.
There are things that are better though: Mainly, new features for custom games i.e. having up to 24 players/forces. I like the new graphics, though I recognize that some people don’t.

Feel like the downgrades far outweigh the ‘pros’. Wouldn’t even be an issue…except i’m getting only the downgrades because despite me not buying Reforged, I still get all the issues and changes, sans the ‘upgraded’ models.

I’m not saying it’s a great deal, I just believe in truth and honesty, and the truth is, there were some positive things to come out of the transition. Far more negatives of course- but again, those weren’t supposed to happen. It happened because Activision decided they didn’t really care about the project anymore and just wanted to get it out the door, so they cut off funding and imposed impossible deadlines for not enough staff and then fired them when it predictably failed as result.
The devs, who actually wanted to make a good experience but were thwarted by the company, are victims here. This is all detailed in videos by said former staff.

The solution is to re-hire the original devs, fund the “COMPLETION” of reforged, and THEN, maybe create some expansions for further cash grabbing.

i have decided to at least give them a chance. if they fail they fail. preasure from microsoft however might make them keep at it.

Chill, ptr’s take time and last time I heard, they got a new overseer. If anything she seems to be a veteran and she got nice vibes of JK Rowling going on about her. Again time will tell, just give it awhile

Wellllll aparently someone has stepped up to run and look after WC 3. I forgot her name, but if they appointed someone to be in charge of Wc3, it usually means there will be more updates in the future.
That’s true. Usually when it’s not day, it’s night.
Also, 1 > 0. So eventually you may be correct with the updates.
That said, if a butterfly flaps its wings in Japan, there will be an update in WC3.
So if we consider the non-deterministic range of possibilities we could be sure that there will be “more updates in the future”.
…unless it is not computable…
…anytime “soon”.

yes thank you! She’s been given reigns on WC 3, so she does know what she’s doing, especially if she’s an exec on a big game. I only watched the brief clip for like 30 seconds from our boy Neo

Ohhh ok, makes sense. I saw it on w3c channel and Neo gave a brief statement about her. I only skimmed it quickly but makes sense now that he was talking about her being the new exec over WoW I guess. I mean Im not sure why he’d make a vid over it when it wasn’t about wc3 updates though so from first glance, that’s what it’d look like lol

they are utterly out-of-touch with what players actually want. i.e., lack of simple features like camera zoom included in 1.33.

Reforged reminds me of how they put heroes of the storm into maintenance mode after a big fail;
They removed/reworked (downgraded) all the things that made it unique in a series of patches: for example, they reworked support heroes, specialists (summoners or siege heroes), hybrid characters, etc to basic dmg characters. Then, they abandoned the game instead of trying to fix their mistakes. I see that they are making big downgrade changes to overwatch currently as well, I bet it will follow suit eventually.
It seems like they spend more time making sweeping, destructive changes to their games, rather than actually adding new content, fixing features, heroes, etc.
