What actually happened?

So for better animations you would sacrifice 15 years of custom maps, a united community and probably all the pro scene which would 100% stay on classic because of the changes? I mean, if we want classic to be objectively better than reforged, that’s the way to do it.

He says “Culling of Stratholme Reforged is Bugged” then explains how a mistake in the Warcraft III Trigger Editor affected the demo. The video was posted last year, literally.

Yeah, its just bcuz using the old engine make alot of new feature got very limited in reforge, even some feature is impossible because the old engine, example bad lightning and also non flowing water, all the river and other body of water also is static bcuz old engine.

It doesn’t explain anything. They could as well make that mistake in LUA or any programming language. Forgetting the keyword “local” is a common mistake amongst LUA programmers.

However, it explains that they were re-writing the trigger. Which would suggest that they were adjusting it for a different engine. Back in 2018, LUA scripting was in early experimental phase, therefore I doubt they’d be already re-writing triggers in LUA for the demo.

A lot of pro already said that the new skin is difficult for pro gaming so a lot of people will simply play with Classic grafic BUT if reforged is simply “new grafic” and all the improvment on battlenet you will get for free if you stay on Classic nobody gonna buy reforged so it imply that in every situation the two continuity will split.

Let’s be real here, the pro scene is going to use low graphics options anyway as they do in every single competitive game. So I ask why should we care about the pro scene in this case?

patch 1.30 already killed most custom maps, patch 1.31 butchered them; man I wish Blizzard releases some version switcher so we don’t need to use some third party program

How so? I mean when you queue up on classic how are you going to prevent the other player from being a reforged player? Are you saying classic players will start only playing customs to avoid reforged players? Also if for whatever reason they do this I hope they also do it in melee. “Oh no a reforged player!!! I’m going to just accept my loss and leave instead of play against you!”

Yes! Agreed with you totally! This really needs a explanation for what as happened! The game looked perfect in 2018 demo! Now seems the beta game is losing so many things… :frowning:

Something went catastrophically wrong.
And they’ve spent a year playing catch up afterwards.

It was a wicked witch from Activision lands…

What happened? They remade StarCaft&BroodWar (2D game) and said to themselves “well, dat was EZ!, remaking WC3 will be easy aswell”, so they decided to promise WAY more of what they were capable to do in one year, by presenting a demo that ran at low FPS on a campaign map and graphics similar to the ones of StarCraft 2…

The result of this arrogance? The beta is a mess, the graphics are 2019 models in a 2002 game, 50% of the promised content has been cut off, the game runs like horse(CENSORED)it and worse of all, they managed to get a delay but it’s not even a month!

This is one 9000 IQ move by the Classic Team or the Marketing Team i am sure of it, or the first is so delusional to fix the game in time (aka doesn’t care anymore) or the second only conceded one extra month of time; So in the end Reforged will ship looking like trash with HD models that still look 2D thanks to the trashy lighting and shaders, horrendous FPS and bug/crashes everywhere

So sad the current state of this beta… The 2018 demo looked so awesome and perfect.
But now this actually beta looks seems like turned into a old game :frowning:
