The replay you are trying to watch is either from an earlier patch or is corrupt. Replays are NOT COMPATIBLE across game versions.

I cannot reproduce this error with any replays from the current patch.

Had some Success putting Battle.Net and Warcraft III Folder as Exception to not scan for Viruses (Windows 11 Anti Virus Settings).

Thats not the issue. Its Replays from the current Version. I would not even get a loading screen if the Version is not compatible

So can you create a replay right now? just start a custom singleplayer melee, play for a bit, quit / win / whatever, and view it immediately and tell me if it worked? Because that’s what I just did and it worked fine for me.

If it doesn’t, and it worked fine before the recent update, it’s probably your install that’s messed up and clean-reinstalling the game may be the solution (making sure to back up and delete the game folder in your Documents folder and any other left behind files first)

Though it could indeed be related to antivirus interference, if you’re using the default windows defender, I use that as well and it hasn’t caused a problem (well, yet anyway)

I got Replay files from w3champions which do not work, and they work for my friend. So it’s really on my Computer, i dont think there is any file corruption. Sometimes the Replay loads and sometimes they dont. I think its some Windows 11 BS…

Please don’t dismiss solutions without trying them. There are a ton of ways for the game to get messed up, i’ve run into a number of them myself.

I know it’s inconvenient, but the only way to know for sure is to do it. If it doesn’t fix the problem you can definitively rule it out and then other people know not to bother.

Again, as a tech support guy i’ve told so many people things like “turn it off and on again” and they don’t believe me, then I turn it off and on again for them, it works, and they’re dumbfounded.

It is entirely possible for Windows updates to mess with stuff like this, but it’s also difficult to verify such things because many people will be on different windows update packages…

I have tried many things, the funny thing is, my own Replays are working. It is just Replays from w3champions. I took these Files, gave them to a Friend and they do work. I also disabled Anti Virus, Repaired Warcraft III several times, changed Languages settings.

This Replay for instance, super fresh: ://w3champions.com/match/689735864197d880dd506cf7

Hangs in Loading Screen …

Well that would seem to be a problem on W3Champions’ end now, wouldn’t it? Blizzard has no responsibility to make sure third party mods work with their game after a patch. It sucks, sure, but it’s going to be up to W3C to find a solution to your problem.
