  • Breath of Frost spell effect now displays at full quality in Reforged mode.
  • Tuskarr Trapper projectile is no longer invisible in Classic mode.
  • Adjusted Priestess of the Moon’s positioning within her selection circle in Reforged mode.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the Classic mode version of the Blood Wizard to not display.
  • The spell effect for Dragonhawk Rider’s Aerial Shackles is more visible in Reforged mode.
  • The spell effect for Faerie Dragon’s Mana Flare is more visible in Reforged mode.
  • The spell effect for Destroyer’s Orb of Annihilation in Reforged mode is larger, to better fit the area it affects.
  • The spell effect from Protection Scroll is more visible in Reforged mode.
  • Many units that were added in Reforged now have shadows in Classic mode.
  • Adjusted Rokhan’s positioning within his selection circle in Reforged mode.
  • Alchemist’s icons now show him as having blue skin.
  • Deep water no longer shows tiles below it, consistent with Classic mode.
  • Portraits for Classic units now have consistent lighting.


  • Added obfuscation to player names in FFA games.
  • Crypt Lord - Level 2 and Level 3 Carrion Beetles hit points reduced from 330/490 to 275/410, and mana cost for Carrion Beetles ability increased from 45 to 50 across all levels.
    • Developers’ notes: While we are not doing a full balance pass in this patch, we do want to add a balance tweak. Although we like that the Crypt Lord has provided a new macro-oriented opener for Undead, we have concerns about how effectively it transitions into the mid-game, specifically with how effectively Level 2 beetles are able to harass enemy workers. At the same time, we’d like to preserve the uniqueness of the beetles; that is, that they are permanent summons and have access to Burrow. Therefore, we’re targeting their ability to tank damage. Reducing beetle hit points will require players to pay more attention to their beetles and reduce their ability to damage before being forced to burrow. Increasing the mana cost of the ability by roughly 11% hits a notable breakpoint at Levels 2 and 3 where a full mana Crypt Lord who casts Impale and then begins to summon Carrion Beetles will now have one less cast of Carrion Beetles before going out of mana. This means it can field 4 beetles at Level 2 during combat and 6 beetles at Level 3 instead of 6 and 8 respectively. This should increase mana tension on the hero and reduce the Crypt Lord’s combat viability in the early game where available mana is at a premium.

Custom Games

  • Adjusted the bottom of the Custom games lobby list to keep games at the bottom of the UI from being blocked by the buttons.
  • Added tooltips for Custom Game creation options.


  • Burrowed Crypt Fiends no longer retain their Web ability after being reanimated via Animate Dead.
    • Developers’ notes: This was a legacy bug. While a corner case scenario, it only happened to Crypt Fiends who were literally burrowed, killed then had Animate Dead cast on them, we still wanted to address this since it went against the rules of how Animate Dead is supposed to work.
  • Added a tooltip to the Disease Cloud ability on Plague Ward.

User Interface

  • Added a toast when a replay has been successfully downloaded.

Blizzard patching HOURS before the biggest western tournament kicks off in Asia and 1 day before the EU & AM playoffs starts.

Unbelievably disrespectful.


That thread tag is always there, I understand that it is frustrating (I am a bit too from waiting for some fixes to come that I’ve been asking about for a bit) but it was to be expected that the patch would launch today, tuesday is patch day most of the time and they already had a stable PTR up.

By the way 1.33 is going to contain most of the stuff people are asking about so there’s that, don’t expect minor version changes to have that stuff (1.32.x)


Why do you make MASSIVE balance changes with multiple variables (e.g. CL beetle total number, summoning 2 at once, and impale buff) just like you did with KOTG a few patches ago, only to have to obviously roll them back? Is it that hard to make minor singular changes and see how that affects the game? Does anyone on your team actually play WC3? WHY DO YOU NEVER CONSULT THE COMMUNITY IF YOU HAVE A COMMUNITY MANAGER ?!


Please. Can we have a date for custom campaign and Ladder ? that’s the only reason i didn’t refund Reforged. and i’m waiting, waiting, waiting :frowning:


first game i played after Patch: I win but the victory goes to te other guy. Great job!


I’m glad you are still working on this game. and I know its not the small team working on Wc3 that is the problem. but your company allocate their resources in a disgusting way. My in game menu is literally running on 4fps until I find a game. once in game I often experience ping over 200+ (I’m located in sweden with 500/200 mbit/s) & 10 - 30 ping in all other games.

on top of that, you took the ladder away from us with reforged and decided to launch your game without it. 7 months later and we still don’t have a ladder!
we want action!

or just give us back TFT with patch 1.28, everything was better back then.


Please fix custom unit shadows not appearing in classic mode.

I dont think the changes were bad but I am disappointed that there was no ladder or ranks…


This is very appreciated, but for a matter of consistency and completeness (aka, make it like a real Blizzard game) the yellow title of the tooltip is still missing. While if you go to options, for example, every tooltip has a title.
At this point, in order to complete the interface can you also please add the tooltip to all the other buttons in the menu?
Like “game speed” for example.
It would look a lot more polished and consistent with the rest of the game.

Btw, the interface still goes at like 1 fps… forced gpu is very needed…

This game in 2003 had better features than this. What a joke. Any senior folks at Blizzard, please fire the guys in charge of Reforged. Then fire yourselves.


Gotta love how the Blizzard employees are complaining about their pay. How can you get paid when you can’t even get a game ready 8 months after a delayed release. Think about how much money was lost due to poor work on the game and loss of players leading to lost revenue.

Developers Team still exist?
How can it take more than a half year to publish a ladder? Community did it in around 1 week. Looks like the blizzard wc3 developers dont want to publish good work, or they are not able to.

Sad what blizzard did with reforged. Sad.

This is from the PTR. Its tested. Its mostly visibility improvements which make watching the games better.

I think you would criticise them, reglardless how strong or weak they buffed or nerfed something.
