Just a quick note to let everyone know that we have a dedicated team here focused on Warcraft III. Alongside our continued efforts to bring monthly patches with bug fixes and quality of life changes, the team is prioritizing delivering features like Ranked Ladders, Profiles, Clans, and Custom Campaigns. We’ll continue to share more details as those features are nearing release, but know we’re here and hard at work on the game.
Are you being kind? For one worked up over communication (and/or lack thereof) you don’t seem to be open or willing to communicate with your ‘peers’ - as in other Warcraft players.
I can only agree with many others in this forum: a post which so obviously applauds Reforge and ignores the striking problems is suspicious.
Reforge could be an amazing game if it had the promised features. So far it is a downgrade for everybody playing competetive matches. Ironically a downgrade we even paid for.
I’ve played WC3 since 2003. For me, it is still the top RTS game. After I bought Reforge I lost a lot. Pings in machtes became much worse, the ladder and profiles were taken away, and I can’t even benefit from the new graphics since they are too buggy.
These were core features of the game. It is more than annoying that they were not ready at the realse. It is just outrageous that they were still not implemented. And until they are not, people have every right to complain.
I’ll go to bat for the developers depending on the case, but the corporate aspect - which is what I think is the most likely case in this scenario given things like Diablo Immortal or how Heroes of the Storm was treated - is what I believe interfered the most with how Reforged played out and is currently playing out.
It (clearly) didn’t meet expectations with missing a lot of key features and general online functionality being kind of a coin toss with every match/custom.
Bring something more constructive to the table than the ‘shill’ buzzword and make sure you bring it to the table with even a shred of decency.
They can say that they’re dedicated to prioritizing delivering features all they want, but the communication is too little too late.
This should have been prioritized 1 year ago before release. This should have been prioritized during beta, not said in a patch content statement one month after release.
This is unacceptable no matter how you look at it. It’s good that they are trying to communicate, but not so good when they already did the damage. Let’s not forget the ‘Aggressive patching’ statements we got, which were then left with weeks/month of no activity or follow up communication. If they’ve have consistently been unable to deliver what they communicate to the fans, their words ring empty. It’s simple as that.
What we want to see are results, not empty promises. The damage they’ve done with consistent silence has already diminished any faith that the fans have in the devs. All we have now is literally damage control, hopes that the game can eventually meet the original’s standards. And frankly, I don’t think that’s even worth the $30 it’s priced at.
As much as I’d like to see a Warcraft 4, I wouldn’t want Blizzard to do it anymore, after seeing what a disappointment Reforged turned out to be, along with the many issues before Reforged happened.
Engine is fine. Just need to fix FPS issues which is within the engine. Talented people can achieve great things like this customized UI. https://i.imgur.com/nyMblsn.jpg
I brought a substantial amount of matter to the discussion if you read my previous posts, directed towards Dan. I literally listed several items that indicate what’s wrong with Reforged. You really should try to read more content before arguing, it’s a bit embarrassing to make harsh claims only to be corrected shortly after.
The reason why “shill” is a buzzword is because it’s extremely relevant to the status of the War3 community right now. Do I think it applies to everyone? No.
I’m sorry that my words offended you so deeply! Hopefully we can move forward from here with more constructive communication.
And how you were presenting them kind of sucked which often winds up being a detriment when you’re trying to have a conversation. Interesting how some of your posts went poof.
I’m going to take a (facetious) page from your book here -
I’m sorry that my words offended you so deeply! I hit you with an emoji, an observation, and then a bigger post that involved generally agreeing with you/others about Reforged’s current quality and then, yes, going out of my way to show some grit about how you post.
As someone who got this tossed at them for nearly two years at least in this forum as well as the general usage on the internet, it’s really become one of those meaningless words that don’t add anything to a statement. A roll of the eyes from others, maybe.
Okay, I’m sorry you’ve been called that a lot, but that’s irrelevant to my use of it. I’ve been silent on War3 forums almost entirely until Reforged released. I don’t see how projecting 2 years of your personal past onto our discussion is helpful.
I think you misunderstood. It’s embarrassing for you to make those false claims you made, not me.
It seems you just want to continue to fight with me because you are bitter–you brought up a post of mine being removed as some sort of sneer towards me? I’m not really sure, but it seems that way so I’ll leave you to continue being angry. Again, sorry for offending you.
