I think the legal loophole with regard to what you’re buying is that Blizzard said they plan to continue rolling out updates after the game is released in Dec. And considering Blizzard is one of the few companies that seemingly never stops working on their games, this is the expectation most people have.

It’s like when people who bought WoW in 2004 found out they were going to be stuck at a level cap of 45, they didn’t due the company for not having lvl 60 characters… those rolled out in phases after the games launch, along with content for other zones that weren’t finished, battlegrounds, etc… Silithus for example wasn’t even populated with anything until long after the game’s launch.

I can see why people would “freak out” not getting 100% perfect product on release day. Some people overreacted and did the same thing in WoW too. Most people though don’t care because they know anything that wasn’t finished by release will just be rolled out after.

I’m happy to sit here though and watch people throw tantrums over nothing. It’s entertaining.

You’re comparing a major release title to a 15 year old game’s remaster that has zero media coverage. You can’t apply the same concepts to both games.

Zero media coverage? Millions of people saw Reforged at Blizzcon… The game is literally in the launcher, which millions of people use every day.

That doesn’t even matter though… the # of people aware of the game’s existence has nothing to do with development strategy.

Blizzard as a brand, has earned it’s reputation as a company that goes above and beyond other studios to make sure their products look as good as humanly possible. This is a big part of why people love WoW, Overwatch, and Diablo. Those games are beautiful to look at…

Why you think it’s going to be any different for Warcraft 3, easily the biggest name that has made their company stinking rich, is a mystery to me…

My lack of faith isn’t with Warcraft 3 itself, it’s with how Reforged was handled. Millions do see it on the launcher yes but I can assure very few people actually care, if you have to go to Warcraft related websites to get any coverage for Reforged, meanwhile other recent remasters like Age of Empires 2 has been all over the news, why? Because Microsoft actually gave a sh!t about it.
