So i’ve installed my old CD version and found a way to get the patch 1.28.5 which has alot of improvments over the older versions , usually you’ll need to update it throught battle,net but since that’s no longer a thing ( because it will just download useless files that doesn’t concern your older and better version of the game ) here is what i found and works fine for me ,
So first of all after installing the 1.0 version that you have from your glorius CD versions , go into this site xxxhttp://wiki.eurobattle.net/index.php?title=How_to_patch_my_Warcraft_III and download 1.27B which can be updated normally (like good games use to work back in the day) after that you will see that any other patch after that will force you to download the new battle.net client and it will force you to download 30gb of useless things so to bypass that go to .

on this website under “Update using official installer” you have some mirror links that will allow you to download the patch 1.28.5 files without the battle.net bull*** files , after downloading the file (1.2gb) just copy them into the game installation directory (programfiles/games/warcraft3) select copy and replace and you’re basicly done
As always dont forget to not press the battle.net in game because again it will try to download 30gb of useless files that relate only to reforged Ops i mean refunded .
Btw i didn’t see anyone mention how to uncap the FPS in war3 (TFT , ROC) original versions , so here we go after installing the patch (1.28.5) you can just follow this simple guide and it will uncap your FPS the game will feel much smoother i personally did it few minutes before writing this post and it works perfectly ! <3 #makewar3greatagain xxhttps://gaming-tools.com/warcraft-3/fps-guide/
