So those who didn’t play WoW can follow the story after WC3.
Warcraft 4 should end at killing the Lich King and Warcraft 4 expansion will end at Legion where the Saegeras got sealed by other titans.

I mean, all you’re doing really is writing down contents of a dream. I’m pretty sure the devs whose work is constantly being disrespected by the higher ups as it is, just view this as a job at this point. I will never be put into a place where I can blame them for that either.

I disagree. I say Warcraft story ended well with Frozen Throne. Arthas and Scourge story is the best we got from Warcraft, and I’d like to think of Lich King as an ever-present threat, that living races of Azeroth can only keep at bay, but not manage to defeat. After all, after becoming Lich King, Arthas became so powerful, that even Kil’Jaeden was too afraid of directly facing him. His own creation came to match him.
Also, Sargeras is already “sealed” in the Twisting Nether at the time of Warcraft 3. He cannot get out. And with Archimonde, Mannoroth, and most powerful Dreadlords gone, Kil’Jaeden is the only capable member of the legion left. And even he isn’t as much of a threat as Lich King, as mentioned above.

They screwed up Reforged, they’ll screw up Warcraft 4 too.

They are not able to make a good game anymore. 3 Years ago I would have begged for Wc4 but today - no.
They just can’t. Would be even worse than WCR:Restarted.

Just make it in the warcraft 3 editor as a custom campaign like people did for years. I know, because i’ve played it there’s at least one good custom wc4 campaign map out there with like 13+ different races to play.

Except they removed custom campaigns…and single player custom map options…and you can’t save in custom games… Until they fix those things we will never be able to make the kind of maps you’re talking about.

Warcraft story didn’t end with Frozen Throne, it has literally been going on since 2004 with WoW…jesus christ
The OP was saying Warcraft 4 should be a single-player version of WoW in the form of an RTS. In other words…A game where they can just take the story that already exists and make a game.

Wow butchered Warcraft story left, right and center. For that, I still consider Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne to be the end of Warcraft story.

Ehh…I’d say it ended at Wrath.
It was a bit rocky but it came to a satisfactory conclusion for the arc. There were others issues like the burning legion and the void, but really those were always far too distant until pretty much legion.
By the end of wrath we’d seen the conclusion for arcs for the scourge, the burning legion (at that time), Ilidan, and Kael’thas. Pretty much everyone who had a big part in wc3 (except maybe Kil’jaeden) was concluded by the time we reached wrath.
And honestly I don’t feel like they create as many good new stories once it was over.
By the time wrath ended, everything that had to be said was said, arcs concluded, and all that was really left was alliance vs horde which as we can see, is never going away.

What he means is he thinks WoW’s story is so bad he doesn’t even accept it as part of the story.
it’s like how comic book fans will deny any comic book entries that completely destroy a character, and usually reboots or retcons will try to eventually remove those stories anyway just to appease them.
This.
WC4 should be retelling of WoW in RTS form where the players/adventurers are just a footman/grunt in the game.

I honestly think it’ll be a while before they touch the franchise again. I’d rather them take the time to learn from the faults in Reforged so they can eventually deliver a satisfying Warcraft experience.
That’s actually not a bad idea… So Warcraft 4 would take the major events that happened from the release of World of Warcraft, to the end of Wrath of the Lich King. And the expansion would cover the major events up to the end of Legion.

That’s how they should do it storywise , just continue with the same story as WoW in RTS mode this time. (or put some major story events from wow to warcraft)
Basically they could make the whole WoW story in RTS mode Warcraft. (some people don’t play mmorpg’s and it’s easier to experience the story through single player games , some people don’t even raid in WoW (and they miss story parts.)
Other than that, they must make Warcraft 4. EVERYBODY WANTS IT !
