This has been persistent since the beta, but it mostly comes up in custom games. When War Stomp or Thunder Clap’s spell effects are used as a custom effect – be it for another spell or a special effect, the sound effect of the stomp plays several times over.

Yeah I was wondering what I did wrong because the sound just won’t go away

It is not just the sound there is also appears the visual effect.
