Still no Mac support as new Warcraft remakes are released

It is depressing how Blizzard has quiet quit the Mac and no one seems to be talking about it. It started before Microsoft bought them. There is no Overwatch, no Diablo IV, and now no Warcraft or Warcraft II Remastered. Of the existing ports, the only one that has been updated to be Arm-native after all these years following Apple’s transition to it is World of Warcraft, while Starcraft and Starcraft II, Diablo III and Warcraft III and others remain Intel-only, necessitating the use of Rosetta to play on a modern Mac, which means taking a performance hit. Starcraft II runs like poop even on an M4.

If this company is going to abandon the Mac, I wish they would just come out and announce it already. This situation is absurd. They seem to care as little about the Mac as they do about the gold sellers and their bots infesting the WoW Classic servers.

Just mentioning the word ‘Mac’ will open you up to ridicule in this community…
But it doesn’t matter… WC1&2 are not coming out for mac anyways…

Diablo III received native Apple Silicon support with Patch 2.7.8 released at the end of October.
Mac or Apple silicon support is not a priority for Blizzard.
Especially after the many setbacks they encountered in dealing with Apple.
But there is hope.
Porting to Apple Silicon is not a simple task. The existing Intel Mac source cannot be directly compiled into an Apple Silicon executable file.
