For Windows:

To find your current Auto-Tuning status, open a Command-Prompt and type in: netsh interface tcp show global

Look for “Receive Windows Auto-Tuning Level”. You should see “normal”.

Command for enabling Auto-Tuning, if it’s disabled: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

It was one of the recommended WoW latency fix addons, it was also used in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn (and just FFXIV), it was used in Black Desert Online. It has a long track record of being secure, obviously you should get the original Leatrix from Leatrix website and not some mediafire shizzle, but still.
