Server/Latency Bugged

Hi, all the custom lobbies show 400-1k+ ping for me and I’m in the United States in Seattle. Not only that, I am sure it is some sort of location grab error on part of Blizzard as anytime I host, it is hosting the game from Asia and it’s unplayable for everyone (including me). I see nowhere to edit or manually change this… how do I fix it?

Everything’s normal over here. You don’t have a VPN on do you ? are you connecting through the battle.net gateway closest to you?

It’s also entirely possible your ISP or some backbone internet router is throwing a fit, in which case it should just be a temporary issue.

Also, this is tech support, so post it in tech support instead.

Yes, I have “Americas” selected. It doesn’t have a USWest or USEast option anymore. No VPN, I don’t believe they allow most VPNs to work. It’s been like this since the patch and no one responded in the other section.

Any VPN will work. VPNs are actually great for troubleshooting network issues, as they allow you to manipulate the path that your traffic takes to the destination. But not all VPNs make it that easy and some will hinder performance rather than improve it.

Mudfish is extremely cheap (a couple dollars will give you all the bandwidth you’ll ever need for games) and it is very easy to configure it to change your path to the servers.

There’s a pretty good chance that this is just a temporary issue out of either yours’ or blizzard’s control. But if it doesn’t clear up in some matter of days, consider seeing if a VPN can get you around it.
