Receiving “There was an error handling the request 6:9” when attempting to launch Warcraft III Reforged. I am currently on Windows 10 OS.
Troubleshooting steps taken:
-Updated to latest patched version
-Ran “Scan and Repair option”
-Deleted cache folder
-Uninstalled/reinstalled Game
-Whitelisted on virus scanner
-Infamous “Weeeestart Computer”
After further research, I see MAC users are receiving this error mainly (From what I have found on the support form). I have not encountered a support post relating to Windows OS specifically.
Has anyone encountered this error? If so, were you able to resolve it?
Good question, how can I confirm that? Under Account Settings → Game & Subscriptions I see both ROC and Reforged CD Keys but I am not sure how to confirm what license is on my account.
“CD key” and “license” are interchangable in this context. If you see the game on your account page under “Games & Subscriptions and/or the RoC CD key under “Classic game accounts” on the same page, then this probably isn’t the issue.
Sometimes this error occurs if the game couldn’t validate your license, which is why I asked. It is normally network related- it sent out a request and got no response or a bad response. It could be the port it’s communicating on is blocked by your firewall, an internet outage (unlikely in this case), a backbone internet issue or DDOS attack, or an incorrect or malformed message/reponse.
If you are able, try turining on a VPN for the game and see if that has any effect.
Thanks for the clarification - yes, I see my ROC CD Key & Frozen Throne CD Key under Classic game accounts.
Warcraft III is allowed via a custom rule through my firewall for both inbound and outbound traffic, the game was just working a week ago….the only difference was installing the new patch then this started happening afterwards. I can give the VPN a shot but will need to get one. Thanks for your help.
You might also want to check what other things, like driver updates and windows updates, might have occured around the same time. I’ve seen a few other reports of this message but it doesn’t seem widespread.
I have updated Windows and graphics drivers after the fact. I agree, doesn’t seem widespread from what I have found on the forum. Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it.
If you are able to roll back updates to a time before this started happening, I would suggest trying it. It may be a bit of a pain but it would narrow things down.
