How many people stop playing WC3 to play SC2 because there is a new Warcraft portrait for it?

i didnt say people would stop playing wc3 for the portrait, my point is many people bought the spoils of war to have their favorite mount in their favorite game, not because it has anything to do with wc3, doesnt that prove the spoils of war edition contains stupid bonuses? the people who care about the spoils of war will play reforged for a few weeks (probably single player) and then return to their favorite game

they would probably have been able to sell more of those mounts if they were just released as individual items for their respective games, instead of being bundled together with a bunch of other games

Let’s say I’m a WoW player, that is my main game. I see this Reforged game that I don’t really care too much about - passing interest. It has preorder bonuses that give it more stuff. Cool, but it has little to offer any a WoW player with a passing interest.

Besides, there’s nothing that a Reforged player isn’t getting that isn’t already being offered in the game (outside of extra DLC skins).

I mean imagine if a Murloc alternate model was locked behind Preorder. Would you be happier about that or happier that it was added to the base game? Well I’ll let you in on a secret - It’s part of the base game! So now you have something even better than Preorder because you won’t miss out on it. I’ll throw in a new Ice Troll model that looks different from a Forest Troll model too.

i think its unfair to the wow player to have to spend $40 on a stupid skin that should be only $1… if they dont care about wc3 they wont suddenly get into it just cuz of the fact they were forced to buy it for their stupid skin that they are so obsessed with

but yea more money for activision is always great, right? what would blizzard do without their multibillion dollar empire? maybe they wouldnt have to lay off so many people if you were forced to buy every one of their games just to enjoy one of them lol

That I can sympathize with. I could not if the reward were like it was for SC2 - StarCraft-themed. But it’s Warcraft content for WoW, therefore your point makes certain sense.

Fair is relative.

If you think $30 is fair for a game that gives you 1000+ skins, then Heroes of the Storm has 1000+ skins and is free!

You should play Heroes instead.

you clearly dont get it, but thats exactly why I havent preordered. I dont care for skins and the only reason I might even consider buying reforged is for the improved UI

I haven’t preordered either. I’m not even buying at full price.

But if someone else wants to preorder or buy at full price, why are you mad?

I’m not sure who would buy spoils of war either, but I don’t understand why anyone would actively be upset over it not providing more stuff for Reforged. If anything, I’d be pissed off at Blizzard locking Reforged content behind another pay wall instead of having all relevant content in game; as it is right now.

What do you care about DLC content for other games you don’t play? I don’t see why Spoils of War is bad just because it’s not for you.

because its falsifying the true # of sales when counting all the sales to people who wont actually play the game very much

What’s that even matter? They don’t give sales counts of their games any more anyways!

Also, historically speaking, the majority of their game sales has ALWAYS been by the majority of people who bought and played WC3 as a singleplayer campaign experience and never touched the multiplayer.

It’s very well known that multiplayer is a very small percentage of people who bought WC3 back in 2003, when people were still on 56k modems and still making a transition to cable.

No, I’m saying all of Reforged’s content is provided within Reforged. Aside from Skin DLC’s, they aren’t locking some extra feature or some special maps under a ‘Collectors edition’ pay wall.

There are plenty of other games that would tack extras like that on and call it a collectors bundle. Or release the campaign in ‘Chapters’, or lock an entire race behind a pay wall.

hey, don’t get me wrong, i get your point, i don’t like this either, haven’t bought new games since 2016, or if i did they’re older titles before then… i might end up quitting following new games at this rate, which sucks, i don’t wanna do that, but it is how it is, you can scream and kick how much you want, when a whale spends as much as 1000 of my worth it is already over
