Low player count and high prices in the game

I didn’t like how long it took for a match to start. Demanding that Blizzard lower the game’s price and increase the player count.

You can increase the playercount for free by playing.

Lowering the price of the game won’t increase the playercount. People have to be interested in buying it but being turned off by the price to do that. I don’t think there are very many people in that category. Most people who want to play already are and don’t need to buy it. And the price isn’t particularly high, particularly during sales. Aside from that, the game is also on Game Pass and people who have that don’t need to buy the game at all.

Increasing playercounts now leans more heavily on fixing the remaining major issues with the game which deter people who can play from doing so.

Yes, it could, but it needs to be done smartly.
For example in SC2, some people argue that more smurfs and trolls joined because the game is free-to-play. But I think the real issue is the lack of proper moderation procedures.

So I would:

  • Improve Blizzard’s rules and rewrite the Code of Conduct. A good CoC should have minimum 30 pages, including definitions and detailing in a table all punishments and way to appeal.
  • Punish team killers (TKs) and griefers after a certain threshold, and Slurs (Violent communication) after a lower threshold. Gradually increase the severity of the punishments.
  • Lower the game price to $10/€10 (or $15), but don’t go below that.
  • Go STEAM - mandatory step.

I think 10$ is a fair price for 2026, considering the bugs and unresolved issues we currently have.

Also, because I know someone will say, “Fix the bugs first, then put the game on sale” – I’ll respond to that in advance: nobody really does that. Other games even sell pre-orders, and no game is ever going to be perfect. Blizzard still needs to make money and have a budget for future improvements, so ACT now – not later when game will be really dead.

Isn’t this why they have sales where the price is cut by a %

So they do lower the price… all the time!

No, it couldn’t. WC3 is on Game Pass just like Jack said.

Anyway, even before reforged, for a 20+ year old game it was already pretty well populated.

I don’t know what “low player count” in the topic’s title is supposed to imply here, this never was or will be a 50k-100k player count game

I would like to see it on steam though, without requiring the battle net launcher. I hate the launcher so much

this game it’s not expensive for the quality thath has, I’m heartsthone player too and each time thath a new expansion arrive with hapen trhee times in the year the miniset costs 15-20 dolars and the prepurchase 80 dolars and you complain about 40 dolars if you buy the battlechest wich you pay just one time

Players would want new content, new reasons to check out WC3:R and play it more.

Back2Warcraft had some incredible ideas.

Add in the Naga as playable race and you got a smash hit.

They already do it smartly. It’s called “sales.” like the summer sale and the black friday sale and the holiday sale.

Making the default price too low won’t be good for teh game because it will make it easier for people to abuse ranked.

I remember his video from a few months ago.

My point in short is :
Do something - in order not let the game die.
If you + Blizzard have other ideas, other than Steam + lower prices (but not give free game - like the failed idea for SC2) - than implement those ideas ASAP.

the game will never die, even warcraft II remastered still having players and doesn’t have a lader

Agreed the love for this game will last decade

Would do wonders for WC3:R.

Game prices depend on the region; in our region, the price is very high—significantly higher than elsewhere—at around $39. This makes Blizzard out to be real crooks.

It needs proper landscape textures like in WoW; they still haven’t fixed the ugly ground textures.

Normally in 2026, in the digital era (when we don’t even have CDs anymore) the price should not depend on the region.

While I can understand some discounts for Korea or China (they’ve done that with other games as well), in the rest of the world the price should remain the same.

Okay, we know that 30$ is not exactly 30€, but that is acceptable.

I managed to buy it, but others didn’t; people are still playing the old version (1.26) on pirate servers. Moreover, they refuse to accept *Reforged*, and there are a great many such players—I know of at least 50,000 to 70,000 people playing online on pirate servers. If Blizzard had handled this properly, it might have been possible to win them back—not to mention the number of players on Garena and similar platforms.

I still play 1.27, I still like that version the best

Even with reforged, people still play on wc3champions.

Yes, there are wc3champignons as well, but that sounds like a mushroom. :mushroom: Other people make their own rules there.
And I heared also pirate servers are common in Asia region like mentioned.

There is a large base of players using older version that play on RADMIN, that’s probably the biggest one that I know about.

I’ve player who use 1.26/1.27/1.29 on there.
