I recently started playing WIII again and I’m having a problem where I can’t play multiplayer because of the interface.
The problem is as follows:
I open the game. The main menu appears. I click on multiplayer. The multiplayer menu takes a long time to appear. When it does appear, I click on Custom Games, but no games appear.
If I try to go back to the previous screen, the entire interface disappears and nothing else appears; I have to close the game and open it again.
I try this process a few times and randomly it works and the games load.
If I try to open the options menu while this bug is happening, the screen just goes dark and the menu doesn’t appear; when it does appear, no configuration options are shown.

I noticed you have a non-English language installed for the game. Does this still happen when playing with the English version? It could be an issue with the language pack; other possibiltiies include interference from some other application such as a malware scanner, cheat tool, malware, or other entirely unrelated software that is taking resources from the game.
I would uninstall the game, and install it with the English language pack only to see if it could be an issue related to your language selection. After confirming that or ruling it out, we can look at other possibiltiies. While I can not reproduce your issue with the English version, this isn’t the first time I’ve seen someone post about an issue like this.
It sounds like your video card is simply struggling to process what it needs to do. To some degree this is pretty common. Many people at times have to wait like 10 seconds before a profile opens. And sometimes it doesn’t. But generally speaking this isn’t too the degree at which people can not navigate.
What is your video card and are the drivers up to date?
Can you add “-graphicsapi Direct3D11” to the command line and see if that makes a difference? You can find this in the bnet launcer, at the gear icon, go to game settings. Don’t copy the "quotes’.
It may be a cache issue. Go to %AppData%\Battle.net\Cache and delete the files to reset.
The game could be trying to use your motherboard or CPU’s integrated graphics if present. Go to device manager and click the + next to Display Adapters. If you see anything other than your 3080 there, right click it > disable, then try again.
Another possibility is your configuration file for the game somehow got set to read only. Navigate to your Documents folder and look for the Warcraft III folder in there. right click it > properties and clear the checkbox for “Read Only” (it will always have a filled in check box indicating that the folder isn’t dictating the read only state of the files within, but clearing it will explicitly set the contents to be not read only)
That is still odd. What you described isn’t uncommon: many people experience 10 second delays for opening a profile. Or a single stutter in at time when switching menu’s. It is not common to have that everywhere, nor having it as the default.
The menu runs in Chrome. It is a true bane and it soaks massive resources from hardware. The community strongly dislikes this for a multitude of various reasons. As you don’t seem to actively ask for help, perhaps this can aid in a direction if you want to resolve it in the future.
Please note the games you play themselves are not affected by the chrome-features from the menu. After release, many people reported lag, stutters, and skews in the menu, making it difficult to navigate. However: once a game was started, the gameplay itself didn’t suffer from it. Hopefully the same experience applies to you.
I’m glad that helped, but it’s definitely not normal behavior.
How long does it take between when you click Play and the lion’s gate appears? Are you running the game off a spinning platter hard drive or an SSD? In the former case, make sure you’re defragging your drive now and again.
