Presumably there are options somewhere in your macOS system preferences. This isn’t handled by the game, it’s handled by your operating system.
On windows machines many keyboards have a setting or switch on them that disables the Windows key on the keyboard itself which prevents you from opening the start menu or performing OS shortcuts while the switch is on. Perhaps there are third party Mac compatible keyboards that can do this.
