How do i get the 1.29 ptr version?

i do not own reforged but i “recently” bought the old legacy battle chest that cointains the old clients and im able to download reforge to play those but i would like to play the 1.29 ptr. does it only come with reforged ?

There is no 1.29 PTR.

You might be asking about the recently re-released version of Classic Warcraft III - TFT 1.29

All players who own Warcraft 3 now have access to the original 1.29 client from the Battle.net App. To install it, click the Game Version dropdown on the bottom left corner of your Battle.net Warcraft III playscreen and select Warcraft III - Legacy TFT 1.29.

Some are able to download it, some are not able to download it. It is an ongoing issue.
If you can’t download it from the Launcher, but you still must to have it, you can download a copy here:

This is only intended for people who already own the game, you still need a CD-key!

Likewise you can still just wait for a fix from Blizzard later.

Please note: The Legacy client supports offline and LAN play only.

and it bears repeating, you can not play online with old versions of the game, including this one. This is released as a courtesy for people who need it to play custom maps that don’t work properlyon newer versions.
