There is a modder that’s has been modding in HoTs models and textures into W3 1.27.
I think they’re based in China so getting this mod was a hassle for me.
Here is a video on youtube and I’ve tested it out too in my screenshots:

What are people’s general opinions of how these models look in game?
I feel like they’re more readable on a map than the details models, but I’m a noob.
What’s the community’s and Blizzard’s opinion on this?

I wish them the best of luck. But I suspect there might be someone who could port them to the current patch as well, that would allow for more widespread usage.

True, every few months I check in on their progress. But unfortunately it’s all on Bilibili and stuff in 480p resolution.
I noticed that they did all the icons and effects and stuff, but that some hero units and buildings are still missing.
They stored most of their stuff in .mix files, and I was easily able to extract the models using MPQEditor, but it’s their project. I’m not porting somebody else’s hard work.
Yeah I don’t really see the point of this. Especially with an old version of the game.
Congrats I saw the video and is really nice - especially the “Blizzard spell” from AM!
Blizzard should add those “skins” (like they did for SC2).

I mean there is a skins feature inside the reforged already. They should use it.
