Heads up, major issue [Apparently Resolved]

Reforged is a reworked version!

I didn’t buy it cause 1. didnt have the money 2. already owned the originals and didn’t care to make another 49$ purchase for a few cut scenes that still looked bad.

Having the classic version get corrupted and losing all my play data was bad enough when you put out the new version now I can’t access it again.

What is wrong with you blizzard?

If you make a new product you shouldn’t be destroying older products someone already owns, I know you want to follow Microsoft’s pattern but honestly even Microsoft doesn’t overwrite its older windows OS automatically it asks you first and lets you keep using it if you say no.

PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE i AM STRESSED OUT RIGHT NOW.

Wasn’t going to put anything here, untill i saw your post.
Blizzard killed my data too, the account that i could find my profile online.
It’s ok, i could start over and play my way up one more time from nothing. And now i can not even get in my game.
It’s too much. And just not fair.

Are you seriously defending this action ?

Are you seriously defending the freeloaders who want to play the advanced Reforged engine minus the HD graphics without paying for it (this includes 1.31)?

For those people, getting patches like 1.29, 1.30, and 1.31 was a gift. It was a gift given in good faith because of how it was likely these people would exist as part of the ecosystem and end up buying the Reforged to support the development of what they were playing. But, given the nature of people today and the public outcry against Reforged, it wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of people in that category actually did not buy the Reforged.

So, I don’t see it as “supporting” this action so much as just that I think it would be totally fascinating if this “problem” was intentional. Maybe it’s the start of a new chapter in management over this game. Maybe the freeloading non-payers will get a cheasy download of the 2002 game patch 1.27 that is allowed to connect back and play on the old servers again instead of access to Reforged engine. Isn’t that what everyone wanted anyway? Aren’t you thankful?

hahahaha

Nah, it’s worse. I’m with the resistance force. I often am working on making my own game instead of playing Reforged, so I’m able to start to appreciate the amount of legitimate technical effort taken to create Reforged. And when I say Reforged, actually I’m using the wrong word here, because really I’m referring to the patch 1.32 engine that a lot of people used without paying for.

It must hurt to be manipulated by social media into believing Reforged is so bad. I suppose you probably feel like the whole world is terrible and there’s no hope for anything. All that poor terribleness just closing in around you with no escape. The only outcome is that you need to go to social media and cry out in sadness and make others sad, by giving more clicks to the social media system… The only outcome is to go give them your life and your time and your clicks for free! Instead of playing a new and improved version of Warcraft 3 that took painstaking efforts to create! It’s so bad! hahaha

Ok thanks. Good. The game I worked on recently is already free and open source online. So it would be bad if you paid for it anyway. That would probably mean you were getting tricked by someone.

I’d rather pay for his modded version than trying to pay for reforged again… at least he’s doing it genuinely for the game.
Anyway, no, I don’t think that he is serious…

Hey, at least we got an update now^^

yeah, same here money i paid all those years ago for wc3 and frozen throne is still valid ret

If you buy a car and a company puts out a new car you don’t expect your old car to stop working soon as the new one is out right? And if you buy a PC and you have maintained it properly and still have a valid warranty on parts and the company finds a fault in one of the parts you can still get a replacement on the part.

So your argument that people who continue to play a game they purchased after getting updates are “leeching” off the business that created it is just a straw argument for someone who basically just wants to take the consumer for everything they have.

Companies whether they are software or hardware manufacturers should always take responsibility for their products and should always respect the consumers.

Its simple you purchased two products that worked fine until they released “reforged” a supposed upgrade, your save data was destroyed when they first released this upgrade, so you lost everything. Now you are unable to play due to whatever error is going on, this is after around a year and a half of use.

There is a work around not sure if you can play local games or single player games with it but you can play offline and do the campaign.

Go to your Warcraft III folder.
Make a shortcut of the Warcraft III.exe file
Edit the Properties of the Shortcut and look for the line that contains the following:
(Or something similar)
“C:\Games\Warcraft III_retail_\x86_64\Warcraft III.exe”
Change the line to:
“C:\Games\Warcraft III_retail_\x86_64\Warcraft III.exe” -launch
(Must include the quotes, -launch should be outside of the quotes.
Click on Advanced, and select “Run as Administrator”

Oh if they could make it so, they would. And pushing boundaries is what greedy companies do best.

Blizzard fixed the issue, you can stop trolling everyone now. and for the record, no saying everyone “pay up lol” after they allowed them to play the game if they had owned the original game is stupid and scummy.

A lot of remasters, enhanced editions and so forth do this as a small gesture of kindness, nothing weird about it. Blizzards version was by far the most greedy, but it still worked and i’m glad its fixed now.

It’s already there. Materials are studied to deteriorate after a given time. This is why if you have a car of 30-40 years ago it is still running (with a bit of fixes) while “modern” cars fall to pieces in few years, unless you buy some very expensive stuff and I don’t mean an ugly suv empty box…

The only way to kill the good old wc3 car was making reforged…
