I was playing Warcraft 3 yesterday, without any problems. Today, I see that there is a driver update for my 2080 graphics card. I played Warzone without a problem but as soon as I opened warcraft 3, it gives me black screens on both my monitors and in some instances resets my computer.
What can be the issue?
Possibly a broken graphic driver update. Try removing it with Display Driver Uninstaller (third party tool) and then clean installing the latest from Nvidia’s website. If it still gives problem repeat the process but then clean install an older stable driver from Nvidia’s site in case it is a bug with the new driver.
Call of Duty Warzone appears to use DX12 while Warcraft III uses DX11. It is possible that the new driver has a bug with the D3D11 implementation which does not affect games using D3D12. Such a bug might only affect some GPUs as well, which is usually how they make it past quality assurance testing.
If it is a graphic driver bug it has to be reported to Nvidia.
