Remember when you could buy pre-owned versions of games?
It legally worked with the companies who bought the owned game were safely “unlocking” the account so another person could buy it again.
Now when you add a key to your account it is permanently locked.
I am sure of it because I bought a pre-owned SC2 and contacted blizzard about that. (so no random sentences^^)
Basically, do it only if you like the box and can find it for $1.
(obviously wc3 didn’t work like this, I got a pre-owned tft and a backup pre-owned roc many years ago, when the purpose of the game was to be played and not to become a money sink…)
