Dear Blizzard Entertainment Team

Dear Blizzard Entertainment Team,

I am writing to you on behalf of the dedicated gaming community to express our deep disappointment with the current state of Warcraft III: Reforged and the company’s policy regarding its promises.

Blizzard’s reputation was built over decades on quality and respect for players, but the release of Reforged has caused severe damage to it. The product you released still fundamentally fails to match what was officially announced and showcased at BlizzCon 2018. From a legal standpoint, selling a game under the guise of a remastered masterpiece while intentionally cutting promised features constitutes a direct violation of consumer rights, giving players valid grounds for class-action lawsuits.

Amidst the stagnation of the MMORPG genre (a crisis openly acknowledged even by directors of competing studios, such as ArenaNet), community interest in classic RTS games is only growing. However, instead of developing this direction, you have allowed a technical paradox to occur. How can StarCraft II, a game released 10 years earlier (in 2010), completely outperform Warcraft III: Reforged (2020) in every single aspect—from network code stability to interface optimization? The answer is obvious: you redirected resources to new projects, abandoning a product that people had already paid money for.

We believe that the company is obligated to issue an official apology to the players, provide in-game bonuses as compensation, and, most importantly, bring the game up to the standard that was originally promised.

Currently, critical bugs that break the gameplay experience still remain in the game:

  1. Custom Content Network Errors: The feature to import emblem images in .png format works exclusively in single-player mode. Once a multiplayer match starts, the custom images completely disappear.

  2. Broken Official Maps: In your own classic map WarChasers, heroes are physically unable to pick up items. This bug makes completing the map impossible, a major issue that players regularly report on the forums.

And these are just a few examples of numerous errors. Right now, the game causes nothing but negative emotions within the community. It is time to stop ignoring those who have supported you for decades. We demand that these bugs be fixed and that the promises regarding the game’s quality be fulfilled.

I want to say a few fair words for your dear team

Firstly, in the past few days, at least 4 to 5 days, they have been continuously updating. You can find on the website that the internal servers for development are updated almost every day, but currently it is still version 2.04

They are actively solving the problems they are aware of, at least that’s how I understand it

Secondly, the carnival will be held in just over a month, and the team may be very tense now. There may be many other things that need to be dealt with, and even personnel may need to be transferred
Because I noticed that a customer service representative hasn’t logged in for almost a month, I hope they haven’t been laid off

In our Chinese Cow and Horse Thinking, it’s best to be seconded to the carnival to help

Finally, I hope they can see the questions raised by players, rather than just focusing on what they think is the problem. At least if you see the problem, give it a mark, give it a 1, indicating that you are working and have a workload, rather than logging in every day but the browsing volume and reading time have not changed

Thank team hard work.

Stop overthinking it, man. The forums are flooded with complaints every single day, and I haven’t seen them actually do anything about it. The game is still full of bugs and the overall experience is awful. Just play it casually and don’t expect too much.

Lutz, your response is always the same: dismiss the issue, make light of it, and tell people not to expect anything better. That doesn’t contribute to the discussion.

Players have every right to expect a game they paid for to function properly.
Reporting bugs and asking Blizzard to deliver on its promises isn’t “overthinking” - it is a normal consumer feedback.

If you disagree, explain why. But telling people to lower their expectations every time someone raises legitimate concerns only encourages Blizzard to ignore those concerns.

Sometimes it’s worth taking the discussion seriously instead of turning it into another clownish joke.

It’s not dismissing the issue it’s dismissing this honestly really silly letter. While I do in general like to see more polite discourse this “letter” is nonsense, based on questionable premises and won’t do a darn thing.

It’s also entirely AI-written as determined by AI detector tools, and clearly whoever posted this didn’t care enough about communicating their feelings to Blizzard to at least write the letter themselves and clearly they’re just looking for engagement, which we’re happily giving them.

Neither does your reply, have you noticed you seem to only post to ATTACK other player comments?
A lot of your posts is normally off-topic and only reply to respond to someone else’s comments taking away from the original post.

Your often trolling the forums, and then get triggered/offended when you get trolled back.
You bring other games to the discussion because of your strong opinion of other games to bring it into the fray of someone else’s discussion.

Let’s get back on track, I know there will be a response to my post above, but again trying to stay on topic here.

I am wondering if your just speaking on your own behalf or did we vote somewhere for you to speak on our behalf, because I don’t agree with this Letter.

Keep in mind the Blizzard Team that created Reforged is no longer apart of Blizzard, nor is the people who push/rushed out the release of Reforged.

This would be why it’s considered a re-master, it’s not meant to outperform Starcraft II, that’s a completely different gaming engine.
That would be like saying Warcraft I & Warcraft II don’t outperform Starcraft: Brood War. They are not meant to in any way.

Again I am wondering who the “we” in the letter? Who do you represent? Map makers (since Eul is an author of DOTA), the competitive players, the casual gamers?
You can’t just claim to speak for anyone if no one asked you or appointed you to do so, your just speaking as a single individual who has a voice, which is your right, but not for everyone.

the option you have given are not breaking the entire game, so this is a false claim. It’s an opinion, which is fine, but it’s not facts.

As mentioned in your own quote, this is a classic map, not a remade in reforge, however map makers have made many edits of their own that does work on Reforged. Hiveworkshop.com

I think your under false impressions here.

Overall I can easily see this is ai written, which I’m not against if someone needed help to write a post in English, but this whole letter seems… off.

I can’t support this letter and would like the original author to not claim “we” when they are an individual, not a collective group who wrote this.

You disagreeing with me is perfectly fine. What isn’t fine is making personal comments such as claiming I

My reply addressed Lutz’s response and I explained why I disagree.
That is discussing the topic, not attacking a person.

If you think my argument is wrong - feel free to explain why?
But let’s keep the discussion about the arguments rather than making assumptions about motives or posting habits.

Eul - the Original Poster - meant “he” and “myself / the Cat”. That’s a “we” already. :slightly_smiling_face:
I am also confident many other players share the same concerns - even if not everybody posts here.

well yes, maybe is not the perfect word. But as I’ve said before, English is not my native language. I usually translate from my native language first, and then sometimes use grammar-checking to improve the text. Nowadays Micro Word, and Google and everything has AI in it.

Maybe those tools do not have other inputs to check - just the grammar.
Tech is not perfect yet. And also AI was trained on real humans - so is hard to distinguish

This isn’t like C++ programming anymore, where you first learn everything from books and then use tools to point out common pitfalls, detect potential memory leaks, or remind you to deallocate memory correctly.

Writing tools are different. They help with grammar, wording, and translation, but the ideas, opinions, and arguments are still my own.

Called it, I knew they couldn’t help but reply.

So does that mean they speak for you? if so, then you shouldn’t be responding since you now have set them as your speaker.

I can’t say that this letter has the best intentions based on the writing alone.
It sets a false united front, when it should be set as an individual and other can reply that they agree/disagree.

No, that’s not what I said.

Eul used “we” to refer to more than one person, including me.
That doesn’t mean he is my spokesperson or that I am no longer allowed to express my own opinion.

I’m simply confirming that I share the views expressed in the letter.
Other players are, of course, free to agree or disagree.

actually

you did

and you just did again.

exactly, meaning it’s an individual post made by one person, not a collective group like it claims. you agree to it, not affirm them as the collective speaker FOR YOU.

Your only helping me make my case here.

You only respond to attack other players.

You are reading too much into the word “we”.
It simply means more than one person shares the same opinion! Not that we are claiming to represent the entire Warcraft 3 community. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m reading exactly as it is written…

You clearly did not read the letter.

:cat_with_wry_smile:

It was already obvious back when Banshees could possess air units that this was a bug. There was never a single patch note mentioning such a change, just like Kodos being able to devour small air units. Yet Blizzard’s response was basically: “Let’s first see whether this bug actually affects game balance.”

Seriously? When a game has a bug, the developer’s first reaction is to check whether the bug is impactful enough before deciding whether to fix it? If the impact is small, they just ignore it?

With that kind of attitude, and you guys still expect the developers to listen to your feedback or meet your expectations?

The “letter” was written by ChatGPT or similar, run it through any AI detector, it comes up as 100% AI generated without even any user tweaking.

You guys all fell for the engagement bait lol

whoever posted this was not just "checking grammar. it is 100% AI with no human-made content or tweaks at all. Someone just put in “write a letter criticizing Blizzard and mention these bugs and issues” as a prompt and spat out whatever ChatGPT generated.

I have far more respect for someone who learns a language themselves, and makes posts with their own voice, mistakes and all, than someone who prompts an AI or asks it for help. No one expects anyone, even native speakers of a langauge, to be perfect, and when it IS perfect, that’s itself often a telltale sign they didn’t write it themselves.

Regardless, your point is moot. As I said, the original post was not simply using tools to improve their post, they simply had the AI write something for them and posted it verbatim.

It’s not an excuse. AI is creating a generation of people who aren’t learning to do anything themselves and instead asking bots to do the work for them.

I’m not saying there are zero legitimate uses of AI but the OP was 100% pure laziness and not a struggling non-native English speaker asking a bot for help with their writing.

Stop deviating from the main point and talking about “perfect english grammar” + accusing those who use tools + nowadays AI.

The main issue here is that Blizzard did not deliver, and the game failed to meet expectations.

Check the ratings from 2020–2021 after the Reforged release, and you’ll see.

If you still feel that AI should not be allowed to correct text, then complain to the Blizzard forum moderators.

As for me, I have a different complaint: I don’t understand why I have to choose between Off-topic, Inappropriate, Spam and Trolling – when for example a certain post could fit all four categories ?

Warcraft III: Reforged is widely considered a major failure by the gaming community, with low ratings stemming from broken functionality, missing features, and critical bugs. The forced update of the original game, coupled with persistent issues even after patches, has resulted in widespread backlash from players on platforms like XGM, HiveWorkshop, and Reddit. Read the full analysis at StopGame.

It looks like you’ve got an Elon Musk chip in your head that’s switched you into AI mode.

Speaking of AI, they could have actually used it for the fixes. I mean, what exactly are we paying for? What did we actually pay them for? They’ve been using AI for ages—you can clearly see it in the StarCraft II campaign featuring Kerrigan. And the fact that they talk about neural networks in their corporate communications confirms my theory 100%. Doesn’t it bother you that they even used AI to rework the Warcraft: Reforged cinematics? So what did we pay for, exactly, if AI did most of the work—and did it so sloppily and half-heartedly? People are even saying that a guy “Boby Cat” with a psychiatric diagnosis of pathological greed managed to become a billionaire just by scamming us!

They even managed to botch the whole thing using AI—it’s a shoddy, half-baked job—so demanding something in return is entirely appropriate.

Blizzard was forced to play Diversity games. Now they are garbage. Just accept it. The Blizzard you once knew is gone and its never coming back.

100 % of text is AI-generated

0% Human-written

Nothing to do with what I was discussing. Someone trolled the forums to act as if they were representing the community.

And then others agreed with the AI-generated content and had them as their spokesperson, lol

I agreed with the original post (EUL) because I share many of the same concerns about War3 Reforged. If you disagree with the points being made (Blizzard did not delivered, no proper Ladder, lot of network erros, broken maps, bugs) please lets discuss those points instead of turning the thread into a discussion about AI-generated text.

I find the discussion about whether the post was AI-generated to be off-topic.
Also do not put pressure on analysing the word “we”. It means just EUL and myself and lot of other people. If you doubt, you can check the ratings from 2021 and the tons of game reviews from different sources. Thus entire community or not entire community - I do not know but sure "we " represents a lot of similar opinions.

Also, please don’t use cat or clown emojis when referring to me. I’ve asked you several times not to do that because I find it annoying and perceive the cat emoji as being directed at me. Please respect that.
