  • Sales
    • Warcraft III sold one million units in the first month after release, becoming the fastest-selling PC video game in history at that time and surpassing a record set by Diablo II. The NPD Group declared it the third-best-selling computer game of 2002. In the United States, Warcraft III sold 1 million copies and earned $49.4 million by August 2006, after its release in July 2002, making it the country’s seventh best-selling computer game between January 2000 and August 2006. Warcraft III received a “Gold” sales award from the [Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association], indicating sales of at least 200,000 copies in the United Kingdom. In France, it sold over 200,000 units by March 2005
  • Legacy
    • Warcraft III has been an influence on real-time strategy games, especially the addition of role-playing elements and heroes as units, such as Total War: Warhammer . More than the game itself, mods created with the World Editor led to lasting changes and inspired many future games. Defense of the Ancients paved the way for the multiplayer online battle arena genre and inspired the creation of the mod’s eventual sequel, Dota 2 and games such as League of Legends .

Here are videos that shows which game is popular and sold most.
Blizzard is doing fine, it has games in the top 10 all the time.

Do you guys have any guesses on how many ( pre-orders ) copies Warcraft III Reforged sold, and will after release?
This is very important for the future support of the game.

i dont think reforged is even close sold like all of this game, but when the game will be released and if it will be good, with good ladder, with good esport, im pretty sure it will explode and many people will buy it, but honestly after this beta im not sure about it cause the beta dont give me alot of faith, i think blizzard is much more interesed in Diablo4,WoW expansions,Overwatch dlc…It’s sad cause reforged got huge potetntial for a good esport game more then all of blizzard games, cause sc2 is dying slowly…

Fix your post OP. Your stats are all over the place and don’t make sense. You list dibbles 3 as the 3rd most selling at the top but then switch it to 2 down below?!

You also say War3 sold 3 million but then further down say $49.4 million. Are you switching between copies sold and gross earnings? It would make more sense if you used the same units for everything or explicitly called out what the units were consistently.

IMO, the most important stat isn’t copies sold. It’s how much each game made total, but you could put copies sold near it to show popularity.
