Age 3 have DLC

Age 3 released a DLC. Age 3 sold enough to make DLC worth doing.
Then the RTS do not sell.
Blizzard do you realize how much money you lost by making cuts in W3R? this was a gold mine.
Every year you added 20 models, you put some voice accounts, some maps and you had a DLC to sell that everyone would buy. Work that Modders do in their spare time.

Apart from that, you could generate Lore so that, for example, your jailer and SL has a background and the WoW is not dying. You could have made a campaign of the “night warrior” or of Baien. But hey, you really like losing money.

imagine telling a few years ago that MS would make a remaster of a classic rts better than Blizzard…

The War3 community could outcompete content release for Age123+DLC’s combined, we just needed a working game.

Something I thought about they could do for DLC is new campaigns based on past lore, like Rise of the Black Empire or War of the Three Hammers. Make assets for the new playable units, custom tec trees (for those campaigns), maps and such which can also be used for new online match maps. And any new hero units could be a tavern hero.

Guess I was hoping for far too much.

Imagine the business is great.
Grab a DLC that has Garrosh or Browsandi … do you want to use a custom map that has Garrosh? You have to pay brother.

Close everywhere XD

You know, that’s kind of an idea, a Browsandi campaign but in the style in the rexxar campaign. It will be the story for how he became a Loa.

Mentioned the idea fairly frequently. They would have been better off leaving TFT mostly untouched (just some QoL fixes like wide screen support and modern BattleNet integration, still same graphics and custom maps) and free on the BattleNet application and then creating a “Warcraft Trilogy” RTS game which is basically an entirely new Warcraft game based on an updated SC2 engine using modern business practices including being free for WoW subscribers with WoW tie in events and having new DLC campaigns released every year or so.

Bob Salami DLC

would buy for 14.99 fo sho

I mean I love WC3 but AoE2 is on par with WC3 and SC2 in terms of popularity. AoE3 and AoE not much. But I doubt WC3 can outcompete all 3 combined.

in a modern day, it probably could, sadly AoE Trilogy is getting a lot of support while W3R is something that even Blizzard wants to forget, so we’re screwed, it doesnt help that Blizzard is dropping the ball extremely hard lately

Why couldn’t we have a New Expansion or a DLC of a Race like Draenei, High/Blood Elves, Naga, and etc for Warcraft 3 Reforged?

Because the Classic Games team doesn’t exist anymore. There is no team working on this game. It got dismantled at the end of last year.

I respect all of the Age series, my pinpoint here is the custom content that users make that can be of equal if not better quality then official content. while Age series is more of a “default game” focused and dependent on the developers to input content, the W3 community already has mountains of custom content to go through and many more that will be made in the future eventually, even in this damaged state we fight on to the last man, it would have been absolutely GLORIOUS if the remaster was handled properly since insception but well, sadness.

I’ll just put one small pushpin here for the people who were wondering, a single individual in the War3 community has already made 19 custom factions, and that’s just 1 dude.

Again, i genuinely respect the Age community and i think Microsoft has done infinitely more service to its fans then Blizzard ever did or ever will, but yeah my argument was about additional content available for a game (War3) that would out-compete alot of games easily.

Age 2 and 3 have DLC. Damn good DLC too and it’s priced well. This game could have been amazing. I went and got Age 2 definitive edition because it actually offered all of the cool stuff reforge lied about. I’ve been very happy with the games too. You can have successful strategy games Blizzard!! Look at Paradox Interactive, Civilization, Age of Empires, or the Total War games. All successful modern strategy games! The treatment of Warcraft 3 was disgusting but frankly they don’t care because Warzone microtransactions are more profitable.

Yeah, to me the game looked fully set up to be DLCed down the line when it was about to release. People love custom skins, those would be sold without issue. Campaigns from smaller known events, tying lore together as OP mentioned. Hell, recreate WC2 campaign, if nothing else. People would buy it, you had a ready toolset, probably like half of assets necessary already usable at once and yet… All that was thrown to the wind.

The new campaign menu seems to scream “Add me more campaigns”
