Please bring back legacy Console Skins for sale in Collections (BlizzCon ’17/’18, Reforged, SC 20th Anniversary)
TL;DR: SCR is a $15, buy-once classic that still costs money to run. Cosmetics are the fairest way to support it. Today the shop only offers Silver–Orchestra 2019 and Gold–Orchestra 2019 (currently $5). Many of us would gladly pay $10+ per skin for the legacy Console Skins from BlizzCon ’17/’18, the Reforged cross-promo, and StarCraft 20th Anniversary if you add them to Collections.
Why we’re asking
Thank you for keeping SCR alive and compatible. Lots of us still ladder, play UMS and bring new friends in. Cosmetics are a perfect, optional way for us to give back without touching balance.
Right now Collections lets us buy two orchestral console skins (Silver/Gold 2019). There are other beautiful console skins that were time-limited (BlizzCon 2017, BlizzCon 2018, Reforged promo, SC 20th Anniversary). Many missed those windows but would love to purchase them.
Why it makes sense
Sustainable revenue for a classic. Re-selling existing cosmetics is low-lift and community-friendly.
Strong willingness to pay. Community sentiment: USD 9.99–14.99 per skin is fair; bundles would also sell.
No gameplay impact. Purely visual.
Collectors love SCR. A passionate, long-tail audience wants goals to chase.
Keep founder prestige
We respect that some skins were exclusive.
Proposal:
Re-release them as “Legacy Edition” in Collections.
Original owners keep a “Founder” badge/variant (small emblem/year tag on the thumbnail or in the tooltip).
This preserves prestige while letting late players support the game.
Rollout ideas (low effort, high goodwill)
Monthly rotation in Collections (e.g., two legacy skins per month).
Pricing: $9.99 each; Bundle (“Legacy Consoles Pack”) at $24.99–$29.99.
Labeling: “Legacy Edition (original owners keep Founder variant)”.
