In-game Unable to Connect to Battle.net (Mac Mini M4)

I have a Mac Mini M4 that meets all the game requirements and software is fully updated. Tried repairing the Starcraft remastered install, no change. My firewall is off and I am directly connected to a Fiber connection via Ethernet.

Here is a summary of my issues:

  1. Clicking anything but Single Player or Multiplayer on game launch leads to frozen screen.
  2. Clicking options within a single player game freezes the game.
  3. When I click multiplayer and try to Connect with Battle.net, the “OK” button is greyed out and I am unable to connect.

I have tried changing regions and repairing the installation to no avail. I have read in some places that there may be interference with another application on my computer that uses similar connection ports that might be blocking SC from Battle.net.

EDIT: Is anyone else having issues connecting to Battle.net with Mac?

I have both the M4 Mac Mini and an M1 Mac Book Pro both running Sequoia 15.5…

I did seem to find this forum post which basically describes all the same issues in an old version of SC that was patched about 5 years ago. There was no actual solution suggested in the thread that worked for me…

I figured the only way I was able to get around this is to first select the LAN/UDP network first before bnet and click all the way until “create game”, and then go back to main page to click on battle.net. I’m on mac mini m4 too and this is my work around. it’s cumbersome but at least I can access bnet and play.
