Classic account merge?

Can some one help me understand how the account merge of one’s classic sc1 account into one’s sc remastered account was handled?

Specifically I would like to know how account stats in classic where merged into sc remastered account stats. If stats were copied over verbatim, did wins and losses then contribute to unlocking profile portraits in SC remastered?

For example if I had 100 wins on a classic sc1 account, how did that impact my wins on a sc remastered account?

Curious to know as blizz announced they’d be handling wc3 reforged account merges in the same way they handled sc remastered account merges.

I believe you got a prompt to merge an existing one in the beginning one time deal

Yeah they should really leave the option to attach classic bnet accounts to SCR. For example i should be able to use my diablo 2 account in SCR. But now i cant.
