Problem is that some commanders, like abathur and zeratul and tychus, are so strong that they trivialize even the highest difficulty.
So you can buff artanis and swan and other weakest commanders but that will not solve the overall issue of certain commanders frankly needing a solid nerf to some of their most OP mechanics, calldowns or units.
Because overpowered stuff in a COOP game takes away fun from the other player by trivializing the challenge/enemy and rendering the other player needless.
Back when Co-Op was supported, they would publish statistics on how often commanders are played. Karax was consistently low outside of mutations and a few defense maps where he does have insta-build.
With the prestige system rolled out, Karax went from being the most, meme-d CO, to the getting much more used. It’s enough that I see him roughly one out of every 5 to 7 games or so.
Prestige Buff ideas
Artanis P1:
Singularity Charge Gives Dragoons +3 Basic Damage (Damage Vs Armored Targets remains the same). For the 30% cost increase, Dragoons can at least potentially 2 shot Zerglings.
Swann P1:
Pulse Cannon becomes available at Drill Upgrade Level 2 but starts on cooldown once research is completed. Should give him a nuking ability in the late game, albeit less effective in this prestige.
Abathur P3:
The first Brutalisk now requires 100 Biomass. Leviathans and all future Brutalisks require 200 Biomass. Grants him an early pushing boost.
Tychus P2:
Auto-turrets no longer burn down when severely damaged. Should slightly compensate for outlaws not being at full potential when mounting a concentrated defense.
Stetman P1:
Gary can be upgraded with Detection for 100 minerals and 100 vespene once a hive is present. Compensates for no Super Gary or his natural detection ability.
Artanis is definitely one fo the weakest commanders…
Kerrigan could use a buff somehow, since presently the only good unit she has is the hero itself.
Better than a two minute wait for each carrier!
