i played a round of brutal +2 on dead of night and each night the framerate dropped more and more. the cpus is i7-2600 and i7-8700k, neither of which is overclocked. the i7-8700k is locked at stock speed for some reason. the mutators i got was void reanimators and self destruction. one pc have 24 gigabytes of ram and gtx 650 ti boost while the other one have 32 gigabytes of ram. they clearly ran out of ram. seems that those mutators have some leaks. any hardware that would be better equipped for this mix? the commanders was karax and stukov. we had nydus worms and not stanks. we reduced all settings to low and it still ran badly.
its your gpu, most likely, that thing is way outdated. your best bet is to download msi afterburner and run it while playing so you can see what is getting bottlenecked. 24 and 32 gigs of ram is pretty good and should run brutal on what ever your doing. as for that 2600 cpu, thats very outdated as well. im currently putting a pc together with one of them just for a spare when i have my main rig down for something. When i get it up and running i can do a test run of sc2 with it and check performance, but that will be awhile. but id put my money on your gpu just not having enough ram, thats things probably a 2g or 4g, right. my old 1050ti had problems running sc2 on 4v4 teams alot, and it wasnt no slouch but it definitly lagged in it.
this is the bigger contributor to the problem, for what it’s worth
the repeated spawning-and-dying just creates a lot of THINGS for the process to be doing, and the huge quantity of bodies creates difficulties for rendering
my experience two computers ago was simply that i could not play the game with spawn-based stukovs, it chugged too horribly.
FWIW ever since I’ve upgraded to a new setup with 2022 mid-range hardware my machine has been able to handle the dreaded Stukov + Stetmann + long map combo with minimal rate drops.
