Its clear people are upset. This is a horrible patch and even the people who are enjoying it agree that 50% seem to like it and 50% seem to hate it.
When you have 50% hate a patch that is a loss. Even if you had 30% of your playerbase hate a patch that is a loss. Its true you cant please everyone but this is no longer about pleasing everyone instead its about how they have pissed off a large portion of the community.
And now looking at the message board which is saturated with calls to revert it can be clear that blizzard might just not care.
So what does it actually take for blizzard to take notice and maybe even consider a revert?

As any patch, it’s just a matter of adjusting to the new standard.
I can tell you their won’t be any changes until after BlizzCon since it’s hosting an event for the game.
If this is true, the game will be totally dead by then. The player base is bleeding out pretty badly and the only people defending these changes are Reddit contrarians if you know what I mean. The economy is mathematically imbalanced in an extreme way. They only had to make a few changes to 5.0.15 which included eliminating starting Nexus energy so that Protoss didn’t get a runaway economy with Chrono Boost. Of course reverting these changes would force whoever is in charge of balancing this game to admit they were wrong and that would mean losing face, especially if anyone found out who is actually in charge. Some people suggest some Reddit dude named OmniSkeptic is making these changes but honestly all I know is the game is dying rapidly. I would switch to Zerospace if the gameplay was not like some hybrid between Warcraft III and Command and Conquer (i.e. slow and micro oriented rather than strategy oriented). It seems like most of the SC2 content creators are slowly abandoning SC2 and switching to Zerospace because whenever they make an SC2 video, it gets at most a few thousand hits when in the recent past you would get 10’s of thousands at least. Many of these guys (and a few gals) supplement their income with SC2 content creation and these disaster changes are destroying a game which was still quite popular before the recent patch and the tone-deaf responses to feedback from the broader community.

A lot of users who don’t like changes go through this.
This is not the only patch that players say the game is dead.
Again, it’s just about adjusting to the current patch.
There we go again, the “git gut n00b” response.
In the meantime, the fact remains that there are more players who dislike what the game has become as compared to those who do.
A game is played for fun, not to “learn and spend endless hours with it”. That surely is a possibility, but as an option, not a requirement. Of all the total userbase of the game, only a small percentage (around 5% maybe?) are the top of the top e-sports grade very highly skilled 1vs1 gamers. The rest, the vast majority, are the more “normal” ones - the n00b-s if you will - who play the game because they enjoy to play it, even when you loose. It is these players, quite big chunks of these, that are leaving. I don’t suppose it’s a good thing to loose the baseline of the players in general and transform it to a niche game for a narrow segment of players, is it?
It has become at the most part a race of “who is the fastest typist” and to the brim with the dread of “a single misclick can potentially loose you the entire game”. While avoiding that misclick might surely be an indicator of skill, it also definitely removes the “have fun” element while playing the game, with the units in general dying like flies and popping like soap bubbles when compared to the WoL era. True, the balance of the units might not have been the greatest at that time, but the game was more fun to play and you did feel like you participated in the skirmishes and battles with the army you had spent all those 10 minutes to build, instead of it dying within a few seconds because you turned your head to look away from the screen for a moment there because your cat jumped on your lap while you’re playing.

When you have people who are die hard fans finally giving up the game because of this patch.
Its a pretty big problem. Its not just about adjusting to the patch. If we did that we would just be accepting the ensh!ttification of the game.
Why would we be happy about leaving the game in a worse, less enjoyable state. Why would we as players accept that.

I don’t think my reply had anything at all about being “get good” response.
It was just adapting to the new standards… you don’t have to be good, just understand that when a patch comes out, rather you accept it or not, the truth is, that is the new standard.
I myself don’t like some of the changes, but I do have to accept the changes if I wish’s to continue playing.
If they make another patch and change or revert, I’m ok with that too.
Ordinarily I would agree with you.
But this isnt a normal patch. This isnt something im just willing to laydown and accept. Why would we settle for something that is so obviously worse for the entire community?
Im not willing to accept this change because it is so damaging to both the playerbase and to the enjoyment of playing the game. So I will continue to post here asking for change as that is the only method blizzard has said that they are willing to accept requests to action said change.
I expect to be back to diamond 2 by the end of the season, despite the massive, untenable quantities of unrelating zerg and unreasonable air toss.
you gotta get on Jeffrey Epstein’s blackbook
Be careful. They don’t care if you mention all the superficial junk mentioned on mainstream media about that guy and all of the people who surround him, but if you drop too many red pills, the kind of people associated with his ethnicity and belief systems will get your account silenced or banned like mine has been for the last week. You can talk about all kinds of disgusting crap or spam the General Chat every night like DonnyICE does which is clearly against the TOS rules, but if you mention any group that rhymes with news or talk about a certain middle eastern country off of the eastern mediterranean coast, then you will get silenced and/or banned. That is literally the only verboten thing these days that gets you kicked off of gaming platforms. You used to at least have to misgender someone to get banned, but now it is just one group of people and one topic. Literally everyone from both parties who was critical of a foreign country owning all of Congress was just primaried in the last couple years. There is literally nobody left to stand up for Americans anymore in government. I suspect the same is true in who runs all of the corporations, including gaming corporations now. You can talk about whatever degenerate stuff you want as long as you keep the discussion off of one and only one group of people and their behavior.
The answer to your query is here:

Not true. Majority is always unhappy. Always. Just check anything. Any news. Any changes to anything. Any opinions about literally anything. It’s people complaining, always. Even when something is good.
I remember some patches where zerg literally received a huge buff and they was still unhappy about Terran being “OP” because the buff was NOT ENOUGH, LOL!
When you have 50% people hate the patch and 50% love the patch is clearly a WIN, not a loss.

What are you saying? It’s obvious there are always complaints about patches, but the bad patches of the past are nothing compared to this latest one. There’s a real backlash about this change; people are extremely upset. A Starcraft patch has never caused such a stir; nobody’s happy. Ever since the developers who made good patches left, the ones that followed have always been bad, but even if you were unhappy, you could deal with it. This latest change is a resounding no from the community. The patch is sacrilege and should end with an apology and the resignation of whoever thought this was a good idea.

Lol there has not been a patch this divisive since swarmhosts in Hots and considering what that did to the scene I think it could be argued that should have been changed almost immediately.
Other patches dont have an immediate exodus of players. All I see on reddit is people arguing about this patch. This isnt a normal patch. This isnt a normal response from the community. To suggest otherwise is either extreme stupidity or naivety.

The core of the problem is that it is a lot more than a patch. It’s a number of changes in how the game works, how things proceed, how a lot of things need to be re-learned, that make it effectively as major as another re-release. Much like WoL is different from HotS is different from LotV. Units behave sufficiently differently, buildings behave sufficiently differently, encounters behave sufficiently differently, gameplay behave sufficiently differently…. that this change now (it’s a major change, calling it a patch is rolling over to half acceptance) is effectively a different game as much as WoL is different from LotV.
Don’t fracking change the game that we all know and enjoy, Micro$oft (it’s not even of your own damn making). The idea of “patch Tuesday” and rolling releases of software does not apply here. In development it makes sense (keyword = “development”, where things are being made and in constant change) and something that is today may not be the same as tomorrow even though it has the same name/label. But in production, everyone wants well labeled, distinctively recognizable, freeze-point that don’t change in function but only receive true patches for fixing bugs (game crashes, map glitches, funky wrong animations, and so on) and not changes that alter the software behavior. You don’t run your own servers on some rolling release software either, exactly because predictability and known-response to some given situation and setting, is exactly what you want, where you don’t want ripples in the water for an operation that is very well known and deterministic in outcome against its inputs.
Maybe, maybe not. In this case, definitely not. The game is losing players faster than it ever has, and is in a worse state than it’s ever been in for a multitude of reasons, but almost all of them stem from the patch being utter dogsh!t. It needs to be reverted, and it’s very clear that most people who actually play the game actively dislike it, or loathe it to the point that they have stopped playing. The few players it might have brought back aren’t anywhere near enough to stop the bleeding.

So wait, is t there already an extension mod of the previous patch? This way people that don’t like the new patch can effectively revert back?

If not, it isn’t hard to create one.
Step 1: Create an extension mod based off of the LOTV multiplayer mod.
Step 2: Revert any individual change that you don’t like. Most of these will fall under the corresponding unit, while the starting units fall under each race on the “races” tab.
If you want a complete revert, just keep reading the patch notes and reverting changes one by one. There are multiple patches (5.0.16, hotfix, etc), but you can get most of the changes from the last few entries in the “News” section of this website.
I’ve had my own custom mod for a while, and I recently went back and reverted most of the 5.0.16 economy changes (command center cost, larva generation rate, supply for each command structure, starting workers, vespene). I did keep the mineral changes though.
Yep. They are even making tournaments that are playing on the mod only so they dont have to use the new patch ><
