Thor's size should be reduced as ultra did

Thor is already slower and squishier than Ultralisks, and way less cost-effective. But it’s supposed to be the backbone of Terran mech against Zerg — yet its terrible mobility and giant clunky size make it nearly useless in practice. Most of the time, the Thors in the backline just sit there doing nothing, waiting for the front line to get wiped out before they get cleaned up themselves.

And let’s be real — right now, the Zerg composition of Ling-Bane with mass Corruptors and Ultralisks just absolutely rolls over mech in a straight-up fight. They’re literally stronger than mech on the front line, and on top of that, Zerg’s second wave comes way faster, and their economy and map control are just miles ahead of what mech can ever dream of.

This kind of imbalance forces Terran into either turtling up with planetary fortresses and never leaving base, or dragging the game past 30 minutes just to slowly grind out wins with expensive Ghosts.

Simply put — unless the balance team actually addresses how weak Thors are in the mid-to-late game, and how Banshees get completely trashed by Mutalisks or Parasitic Bombs the moment you try any harassment, mech will always be that miserable, turtle-heavy playstyle that nobody enjoys playing against or as.

Как зерг, соглашусь, торов надо уменьшить, чтобы нужно было ещё меньше зелёнок гадюк чтобы их ослеплять.

viper frog is already blind mech army enough no matter how large the thor’s size is.

Why did you out everything in bold?

The Thor’s size is actually useful because when Thor’s clump up, they reduce the surface area for melee units to attack them and for Blink Stalkers to blink in and around them. You do need like 6+ of them at a time for this to work where you get a nice phalanx setup with your Thors. Their big mass also prevents Blink Stalkers from blinking under your air units. The problem wit the Thors is that they are glass cannons. Their +1 armor is a joke and their splash damage air attack should either be fixed or removed. Their splash damage missiles I think should have a weak stun to them which would interfere with the microing of harassment units because at the moment Thors are completely useless against Mutalisks, especially if the Zerg player magic boxes his Mutas. Your best combo for dealing with Mutalisk harass are vikings and widow mines. Use the widow mines to zone out the mutas and kite with the vikings. Trying to chase mutas around with slow thors and unstimmed infantry doesn’t work very well unless you invest massively into turrets which is what the zerg player wants you to do so that they can have map control longer and tech to tier 3 units (brood lords, lurkers, ultralisks, infestors, vipers).

Could you go back to the scboy forum and complain there? A lot more whining Chinese terran players will relate to you.

what’s the matter with Chinese? are you racist?

I can post where I want to, if you dont like, just get out of my thread !!

ultralisk is much more powerfull after they reduced the size, thor is now far behind these upgraded zerg units

So, fun fact, the thor is smaller than it used to be in Wings of liberty.

Also, the Ultralisk size was reverted to it’s larger form.

Thor

The Ultralisk is a melee unit, not a ranged unit. If you are a melee unit you want to maximize the surface area of units to attack whereas if you are ranged you want to reduce the surface area to attack. This is the whole idea behind the Phalanx which the Romans used and why you try not to get your army surrounded in battle to begin with, but if you do the Phalanx is your best option. Thors are kinda unique in this regard in that massing them makes them very strong because they outrange everything else on the ground but siege tanks (they have range 7) and they form a natural Phalanx when you get enough of them which prevents them from getting surrounded as easily be zealots or lings. Having just one or two Thors doesn’t apply here, so being smaller in theory would help a bit.

Also, being bigger means more SCV’s can repair them. If you don’t bring along SCV’s to repair your mech by putting them on follow command and autorepair, then you are throwing money away in my opinion.

All of your posts and comments are in English, and your username is in English. Doesn’t it make you wonder how I know that?

And no, I’m not a racist in any way.

remember ultralisk have much more blood than thors, and they always attack with zerglings and banelings, which makes mech army even more difficult to deal with.

and even if you try to use liberators to slove zerg ground armys, they still have corruptors and Parasitic Bombs to kill your air.
