This is an unpleasant experience; this is the third time I'v

I encountered a really nasty player who made me feel uncomfortable for a long time. The server can only block the player and prevent them from contacting me, but it can’t prevent me from being matched with this nasty player again.:anxious_face_with_sweat: I focused on playing for just over 6 minutes and had an extremely bad and interesting experience. https://youtu.be/bbhZ6FT43N0

whats the point of this thread.

Not to mention no video.

I believe you, but unfortunately the video isn’t working.
Could you explain in words what happened?
Was it slurs, teamkilling, or something else?

In my opinion, if you block some players (for example, up to 6–10), the matchmaking system shouldn’t pair you with them again, not even on the enemy team.

you can not block other players from playing you or you playing them. there are reasons for this.

The system clearly needs improvement to better protect players from repeatedly being matched with blocked or problematic users.

no it dont, its set up this way for a reason. and there are plenty of other ways to silence people, that are simple for anyone to use.

I understand how the system works, but my point is about player experience.

Even with mute/block options, repeatedly being matched with problematic players can be frustrating. A system improvement to reduce these matchups would help to protect players.

no, it wouldnt, what would help getting rid of players like this, is getting rid of free to play, then the actual report people doing there jobs and dealing with the peeps that cause problems. untill then, no, you wont be dealing with them if you silence them or what ever other measures, as it takes about ten minutes to set up a fresh account.

as for not playing with or against other players, that wont ever happen. and again there are reasons for this. biggest example would be high ranked players blocking other high ranked players they know they lose to.

secondly being just blocking people outright and filling up the block system will cause longer queu times all around.

thirdly, if said block system was infinite, you could essentially use that to harrass specific players outright by blocking everyone but them, sure this seems farfetched but im sure there are peeps out there who would.

i can go on, on reasons why your said system is bad, but i think ive said enough already to prove my point, and why its the way it is.

I understand your points about queue times and potential abuse, but my concern is player experience.

Even with these risks, a system designed to reduce repeated matches with blocked or problematic players would improve the game for casual and competitive players alike, without breaking matchmaking.

again, cat, no it wouldnt, it would cause more problems, then fix’s.

let alone, THERE IS NO DEVELOPEMENT. AND YOU KNOW THIS. So it AINT getting changed ever. So enough with your bs takes on it.

Cat, you need to listen. Being matchd with blocked players is intentional.

Player experience is multifactorial. It has to be balanced with other facets to achieve the best possible experience. You claim to understand the potential for abuse, yet you persist with repeating the same thing over and over as if you don’t.

Yes, any feature that allows players to control who they are matched with, even slightly, will adversely affect the system.

My point remains about player experience. Even minor improvements to reduce repeated matches with blocked or problematic players could make the game more enjoyable for casual and competitive players alike, without breaking matchmaking.

That’s some serious sticking your fingers in your ears.

And you’re simply wrong, which is why something like what you’re talking about hasn’t ever been implemented. Similar ideas have been fielded countless times in the game’s lifetime.

You’re demonstrating that you really don’t have a leg to stand on here.

Remaining or not, if it’s not based in reality, it’s not worth anything.

I’ll step back from this discussion, as we seem to disagree on approaches.

Disagree on approaches? We’ve only talked about one.

I swear, you just say random things to be difficult, or maybe because you haven’t anything cojent left but must have the last word.

Pretty sure the guy is just a troll. Please, by all means, step back from every discussion, Cat.

Does the “high ranking players” apply to Coop as well? I feel like we’ve delved into Ladder/Versus (which this and the other bullet points makes sense), but just wanted to check in about this

well for player vs player, for the first point yes, that would be ladder. but the rest can apply to coop as well. if a player is blocking players in coop that could both result in longer queu as a whole as well as giving people a way to isolate a player and only play with or against them.

If you’re so sensitive that you get upset with a random person on the internet saying something nasty, maybe idk grow some hair on your chest
