While I do think that some tosses might get cut out of the diamond league because of extremely bad balance, the majority of the change comes from protoss quitting the game. Obviously many zergs and terrans quit too, as the playerbase went down in general but the biggest change is in protoss players.
I like the changes i quit Terran and the game years ago due to how much harder it was to play Terran and the fact they are always economically behind, this patch finally i feel like i dont have to do tons of damage early on with Terran just to be even.
No, I honestly doubt that. Keeping the servers on for sc2 isn’t costing them all that much, and they recently brought back the chinese servers, so killing the game is completely antithetical to what they want.
What it almost certainly is, is one particularly deluded person telling the intern “these are the changes you should make in the game” and getting them rammed through because he has more sway with blizzard than he should, and damn the consequences.
I don’t even bother with the 8 worker start now. I mean why would I? The game isn’t balanced currently and everything has been upended far too aggressively.
No fun to be had in getting swarmed by a cheesing zerg who made 35 lings before you can get a counter up and running.
If you are a Protoss and you are not steamrolling Terran players, then you are probably handicapping your economy early on and not abusing the fact you can mass expand off of only one or two gates and get an unbeatable economy before Terran can do much about it. If you are too greedy then you can lose to a two base all-in but being good at Protoss implies having good scouting throughout the game so you don’t get caught off guard and you make the right counters. Also, the only Protoss players I have seen cry “oh TvP is so imbalanced for the Terran” literally just massed zealots, stalkers, and sentries and expected to beat a Tier 3 Terran army with just those three units. Once Protoss has an unbeatable economy early in the game, the Protoss player can just place random pylons around the map and instantly intercept everything Terran throws at them which forces the Terran to march straight through the middle of the map and then if the player even leaves one small space in your base without mass turrets, a single warp prism sends 50 zealots into your main instantly. Most Protoss that have left the game have left because of ZvP being imbalanced in favor of the Zerg because Zerg has map control in the early stage of the game so you can’t just mass expand with ease like you can against Terran.
Im a Terran player that just switch to Protoss and after 3 days i allready have nearly the same MMR as my Terran.
Toss is easier to play than ever Warpgate took way more skill now you dont need it because Protoss has insane production speed and you can just rally units across the map.
16 seconds to make a stalker, 30 seconds to build a marauder.
Even if the Terran wins the fight the next wave kills him.
Before Protoss needed more APM to offscreen with the warpins.
Now with Protoss i can literally AMOVE the battle set rally points for reinforcements and keep macroing while the Terran is struggling to micro everything in the fight just to survive.
Terran mech is a new prroblem because of the buffed thor which is have no figured out yet but my verdict playing Protoss is pure faceroll compared with Terran and i wont bother switching back to T
16 seconds to a stalker, 30 seconds to a marauder. Ok… what happens if you pit 1 stalker against 1 marauder? Or 5 stalkers against 5 marauders. Or even 10 stalkers to 6 marauders?
Maybe I am a n00b and that’s ok, but for the same army cost, my army of zealot-stalker looses against an army of marine-marauder. Every time. with basic, non-researched units. If we add there also zealot charge + stalker blink and also stim + medivac + concussive shells, it still is an even more terrible loss.
