hands down. no other professional player is even half as good as serral.
they have nerfed his race over and over, directly nerfing his own strategy, yet year after year he comes home with trophies because he’s simply a better player than everybody else.
he is a definitive prodigy at RTS strategy, and anybody who disagrees is simply fuming with envy because its clear as day.
what I find strange is there doesn’t seem to be a lot of talk about the guy - I hear everybody talking about multiple pros like dark and clem, but never Serral, the guy who’s runs circles around every other pro.
his APM is higher than all the other pros too. that’s why they nerfing Zerg into the ground, because since 2018 nobody has been able to beat him - but instead of trying to get to his level, they just nerfing Zerg into the ground to make the playing field even. look at patch note 16b subheading - the specifically say they are trying to improve Terran and Protoss against Zerg.

everybody talking about how they fundamentally changed/ruined Starcraft - its because serral is so skilled, they tried for years and cannot beat him - so, now they changed the rules of the entire game, since they can’t legally chop his right hand off
OP Im not reading all that. Where are you getting this information where you make it sound like no one agrees that Serral is a legend. Its tough to compare players across different expansions/ major patches. But when the book of SC2 is written Serral is going down as literally the best player ever.
I do disagree though there are certainly other pros that are half as good as him. Being a bit dramatic there right?

this here is the problem, no he wouldn’t be mid if he played Zerg do you realize Zerg was an underplayed race before 2018? tournaments were between Protoss and Terran, then serral showed up and ripped the community apart, made a complete joke of the world champions - and then they began nerfing Zerg hard.
you know in the last tournament Zerg was 23% of player base, Protoss at 37% Terran at 40%?
zerg has dropped into being the least played race in world tournaments. serral would be world champion regardless of which race he enjoyed.

In those years, without serral, zerg won as many tournaments as terran and slightly more than toss.
No, it wasnt “only serral”. Zerg has 5 of top 10 of earnings in aligulac.
Yeah it is all and only skill, zerg was never broken in SC 2 history, and it never helped him in anyway! 
Serral is the GOAT yeah. Honestly, where I am everybody talks about him like that. Although, the terran and protoss buffs was quite legitimate, zerg is slightly OP in this current patch. It was not just taking from serral, but multiple tournament where hyper underdogs beat top of the world gm’s comfortably. That is why it is generally accepted. Even I as a lower league and zerg player felt it honestly.
Match fixing has nothing to do with his skill reigning supreme over all zerg players. Dominated at a time of extreme Protoss and Terran mech imbalance (much more so on the Protoss side). Something which Serral has NEVER done. If he had still played he would wipe the floor with serral ez pz.

Last season of Heart of the Swarm. Zerg was insanely underpowered. Against Protoss Zerg basically was on a timer to win the game at 20-25 min mark or face impossible protoss deathball. BOTH SKY OR GROUND.
And Terran Mech was imbalanced against zerg on smaller maps. Yet despite all those insane disadvantages Zerg faced and the constant PPP bombardment. Life took championships. He was just on another level.
They nerfed the zerg race by buffing a zerg race much enough so zerg doesnt need to micro anymore… So by overbuffing a race zerg players literally lost the ability to micro and now zerg players complaining that they are losing because they are still I quote “underpowered”. No, you just need to micro. Atleast a little. Master zergs can’t even magic box these days… 10 years ago even platinum players could do that and it wasnt even that much micro intense move…
SC2 was a different game before Serral, but don’t worry, they’ll make him lose one day

Can’t be very good if he refuses to challenge the best players.
He only ever plays 2-day weekend tournaments, which favors Zerg/Protoss reactive play because Terran relies almost entirely on timing attacks which are hard enough to prep against 1 player much less 20+.
He refuses to participate in GSL which is a gauntlet traditional tournament where Terran are more favored since they have time to prep their timing attacks and study individual opponents. And this is what SC2 has historically been balanced around, which results in EU having almost no notable Protoss or Terrans since it’s all weekender tournaments.
The only time he came to Korea to participate in one of these tournaments was when RSL ran their joke tournament on this trash patch where Zerg were completely unkillable and literal nobody Zergs were crushing GSL champs.
TL;DR Serral is a chicken picking on the nobodies in the EU region. He may as well have moved to America and picked on the nobodies there too, like Polt.
None of the regular opponents he beats to get his EU championships have ever had a global title to their name.
He wouldn’t even have 90% of his championships if all tournaments were global.
None of his regular opponents would have any championship titles at all if all tournaments were global.
The entire region lock nonsense was made by Blizzard to prevent the most skilled players from competing, but all they really did was create the Special Olympics (NA), Paralympics (EU), and Olympics (Korea).
All the opponents he struggled against for years in the EU have all been repeatedly and easily crushed when coming to Korea.
