Blizzard disabled the custom map publishing feature in StarCraft 2 following security concerns from community exploits. A full year has passed with no official updates, news, or a timeline for its return.
This is deeply frustrating. Countless existing maps need updates, and many aspiring creators are stuck waiting for their chance to contribute. The custom scene thrives on new content and maintenance — without publishing tools, it risks stagnating.
We understand the need for security, but communication is crucial. Could Blizzard provide even a brief status update? Is there a plan to restore this vital feature? The community is passionate and ready to create, but we need the tools to do so.

The last update was provided on December 15 of last year. You can see this topic for more information: StarCraft II Editor Map Publishing [Update: Dec 15 2025]. As far as I know, map publishing is currently only enabled in China.

They were forced by Chinese policy; they won’t be able to regain the market without it. Expensive for them and they have no choice.
In addition, they have made many versions, perhaps it’s a good place to test.
For me, I will not put the maps in CN even if they accept it.
we’re authorized on all servers, I won’t do anything about it.
Out of simple respect, otherwise it’s selfish in my eyes.
