Race Balance Compromise

Raven, Overseer, and Observer should have a non-lethal attack against ground and air for attack move, with a range that is shorter than their detection range and is enough to detect a cloaked enemy unit/structure while staying from the maximum possible safe distance, just to avoid accidentally running into the enemy’s army like High Templars were, before they received their minimal lethal attack. This would at least level the playing field for Zerg and Protoss against the Terran’s risk-free scans.

As for economy, Command Center and Nexus should have the ability, like carriers, to auto-cast production of workers up to the max optimal amount for minerals, or vespene gas(depending which type of resource their rally point is set to) that are as close to them as possible. This should level the playing field for the economy of Terran and Protoss against Zerg’s.

I doubt that having worker production on autocast is a good idea. Especially at the start of the game worker production should be totally in the control of the player. A multitude of builds require stopping worker production for short moments.

observers and overssers are able to enter a stationary mode so there is no need to give them a savecheck against accidently f2 amove them and terrans seems for the most part hate the idea of building ravens for detection purpose alone since the steep cost

what?Why?How?

given that for every structure a zerg build he has to use up a drone he is behind in workercount since scv and probes can and in most cases will construction is done or warpinpoint is setup return to the mineral line, so zerg has inject and invest all those larva into drones in a hgp opening to get even in workercount, and if queens are out terran has atleast on OC running and toss can chrono stuff from the getgo

not to mention you can already que up 200 minerals worth into workers which are that early in the game is suicide since those aren’t units or production facilities in case of an attack you can’t defend due to lack of army or tech

so yeah both QoL changes aren’t needed and in most cases unwanted

At least for the observer and overseer, they already made the compromise by giving overseer/obs the ability to enter the stationary mode. They could add this for the raven too honestly, would be nice as the raven could use that kind of buff. There is a non-lethal attack move built into the game called observe unit I think, but it’s not really being used. A secondary solution is to move command your units onto one of your army units. This is of course a skill factor/unit management factor. I don’t think it’s necessary to implement in any case. Giving the observe ability to the raven would be great though.

Absolutely not

I mean it’s lazy and ultimately won’t be effective at highest level of play, but one can always turn it off.

That being said it’s a nerf to zerg at unskilled levels of play.

I guess you mean to put those unit in follow-mode? At least in Protoss the move trick onto some units is needed only for WP (the simple follow of WP in a unit via right-click causes to load this unit in WP).
Another trick is to use “Remove units from CG and create new CG” with Ctrl+Alt+Numb.

Yea, for Zerg the decision of building Drones or Army is much more consequential than the other two races.
A useful buff for all races should be to put idle workers on minerals outside the half mined expansion (on another fresh expansion). The “find idle worker” command is useless because it comes into play only when resources in that base have reached 0.

But this real buff suffers from the same problem: it rewards s.hitty players (that do not manage workers in half mined expansions) to the detriment of players with good mechanics…

No, it shouldn’t have. It should be up the the players to decide how much scv’s/probes they should make and it should be up to them to not forget that. Also it would be a discrepancy if you would play zerg not having that “QOL-option”. If players forget to build them, let them lose some games because of it and they will remember soon enough in their future games.

Agree, It’s also another “QOL-improvement” which would dumb down the game and for that reason only, noone should be in favor of it.
