The abundance of no response from host is frightening. Is this the cause of my problems?

Edit: from Indonesia, ISP Telkom Inidihome. I’ve had trouble in past but not like this.

Also wanna add my pathping, which may be a horrible sign

Hey, andy! Thanks for including the connection tests here! The test here may not be as accurate since it was only ran for about 25 seconds it looks like.

The “No response from host” shouldn’t be too much of a concern. This usually just means that there’s an issue with resolving the address due to filtering. It’s common to happen for specific peering networks such as your ISP’s peer.

It is a bit concerning that at the beginning of the test, it’s showing the “No Response from host” though. This is also why the pathping can’t get past the home network since it works a bit differently than the WinMTR test on how it collects data. This could indicate maybe the firewall or mitigation is filtering the connection. It may help to try checking on the router for the firewall, security settings, or any settings like QoS (Quality of service) or WMM (Wireless multimedia) to see if any of these may be causing issues.

Since the test is pretty short, I’d be happy to take a look at one that’s ran for around 5-10 minutes to see if the data might change a bit and get a more accurate reading. This may need to be referred to the internet provider though. We’re fairly limited on our troubleshooting and support for home network or ISP peering issues since these are generally outside of our control or may vary in depending on the provider and devices.

Hopefully, some of this information may be helpful. Based on the connection test, I’d assume that using an alternative connection should workaround the problem in the mean time.

Hi Caterpepi.

Apparently, this problem I’m experiencing is caused by my ISP, not anything wrong with my internet configuration, router, or anything else on my or your guys’ end.

By switching to another internet provider, I’m able to join and create lobbies. I can switch back to my Wi-Fi connection mid-game to improve my latency, but the problem persists when I return to the lobby. I’ll have to switch connections back and forth until my crazy ISP does something to fix it.

You guys can probably use this as a reference for others who might be experiencing similar issues.
