New Warchest Coming!

For what? For sending the comparisions of models when someone else say “they are different” even with the image in front of his face?

“Report: the user are saying he is right sending images with proofs of his argument”

For this:

Also you forgot this topic in not about how right you are and how much attention you want for yourself.

I just sayed “the skinset is related to Zeratul skins used in Co-Op”, then people say “no, thats not true, the news skins don’t match with Zeratul”, I posted the comparision and still “no, ingame they are different” even with in-game comparision I posted.
Continuing saying “you’re wrong, they are different” will not change the fact that they are not. I already proof that the skins is related to Zeratul’s skins used in Co-Op. So… I think I proved what I want to prove, if someone else profer to just ignore the in-game images, ok.
For now, I just want to make theories and try to guess to what commanders will be related the remaining 4 skinset… since some of them looks quite interesting.

why not make brand new characters completly? That way they wouldnt have to be stuck with what the universe has and could just go with whatever idea they like

for Tyrador they actual can do that, even if I see that quite unlikely…
but the others unused skins have connection with characters:
-Umojans = Valerian
-Golden Age = Selendis or Rohana
-Tyrador = ???
-Cerberus = Cerberus Commander?

-Cerberus = Cerberus Commander?

I still doubt Umoja will be Valerian. The two worked together but putting the Emperor of the Terran Dominion in charge of a foreign army just feels weird, maybe as some scattered skins but it just doesn’t really work well for his fantasy. Especially with how sour relations got between them after the End War.

I think Cerberus could work for a UED commander (I don’t get the earlier talk in this thread about how DuGalle couldn’t work: Zeratul living literally breaks LotV wide open). I hope if they do it it’s a calldown like Kerrigan’s drop pods and not the main focus of the commander, since the UED has their own fantasy to work with. Cerberus Commander is likely way too obscure for a full commander release, plus would he just be a science vessel pilot again?

I think Tyrador would be like the Leviathan Brood for Zagara or the Simulants for Stetmann (unless the comic connects the Mecha Swarm and Simulants), they’ll fit them in more for theme than having the actual in-lore faction be what the commander uses. Maybe something for Warfield, given their BC style, or perhaps modified like Tychus did for his Umojan skins. After all they’ve shown they’ll use skinsets and tweak them to fit with the commander.

Making a new character requires them to model a whole new 3D cutscene quality character (something they’ve only sort of done with Stetmann and his garb; they didn’t even do it for Mira). There’s also the matter of marketing a character people will want to buy, the name recognition carries a lot. Even Stetmann, for how minor he is, got by because the Simulants skinset was rather requested.

Plus we’ve seen what happens when they make up a new character out of nowhere for Heroes of the Storm. Needless to say their last release was rather unpopular.

Cerberus skins remind me to Apokalisk and his armor + AA turrets or whatever they are. I liked those skins.

Cerberus brood looks like Terrain tech, not protoss. Maybe an old Confederacy project?

Edit: I checked, and the Cerberus program was indeed a confederate program to enslave Zerg. However there’s no well known characters associated with the project.

I could see Tyrandor used for Tosh.

Ihan-Rii looks distinctly Xel-naga, so I could see them replacing Zeratul’s current units.

Those shiny chrome «parade-guys»… for rogue black-ops agent who specialised in guerrilla fights and cover operations? Ok, seems plausible…

Maybe, re-use Moebius Cops skin-set from LotV campaign? It was unique red-and-black combination (also, all spectres wear black uniform, no matter on which side they are, specially Tosh himself; Nux included). Coop enemies, despite usually being Moebius/Taldarim, use default skins, so this one remains unused.

Sorry for broken English.

I didn’t see them as parade guys so much as cutting edge tech.

And besides, we haven’t seen anything of Tosh since WoL, so who’s to say he’s not commanding Tyrandor’s private security force these days?

A specter’s got to eat.

Do you actually read description of KoT skins? Specifically Ghost, Cyclone, Medevac, Viking, SCV. They were designed to more look as part of the show (Tyrador was expensive and pompous resort for rich moneybags who like when everything looks «pretty»), then actually being effective combat force. This backfires badly.

Tosh is assasin. It just no make sense for assasin to wear some shiny, easy-noticeable armor.

If they would ever use KoT skinset, it would be some Dominion force.

I wasn’t aware the flavor text was available anywhere yet.

Tosh has been MIA for years. Who knows what he does these days?

It wouldn’t make sense for Zeratul to be in charge of Ihan-rii units. They maybe similar but they aren’t the same.

The Ihan-rii technically are their own faction. At least from what I understand. A better representative sample of the differences of their factions would be in their infantry. Zealots, Adepts, Dark Templar and High Templar. These units are very different from other factions and it wouldn’t make sense for Zeratul to use any of them.

Mengsk and Warfield too are Dominion commanders, but Valerian is the only character that is related to the Umojans.

Cerberus is a Confederacy (and then Dominion) faction, so no relation ship with the UED, if they used Cerberus for the skin name, that mean the UED have nothing to do with them, otherwise, the skinset would be called “Black Flag” or “Omega Swarm” since are name related to the UED’s swarm.

Yhea, maybe for Warfield can work, I was thinking the Tyrador skins for Mengsk’s Elite Guard. In the remastered the Dominion Command Center is made of gold, so I don’t think is so absurd Mengsk have his elite guards with equipment made of platinum.

I too find hard to belive they will ever make a new character model, but… Blizzard say they want to make DuGalle and Aldaris as commander one day, and if they do, they must do a new model for them for obvius reasons.

some of the models are different, true, but others are the same used for Zeratul. Xel’Naga Ambusher (Stalker), Xel’Naga Enforcer (Immortal), Xel’Naga Watcher (Observer), Xel’Naga Abrogator (Disruptor) and the portrait of the Xel’Naga Void Array (Warp Prism) are the same of the warchest.

Here a comparision.

The lore of the skins implies they are the same faction Zeratul commands in coop, in the regular timeline they were just woken up a little later, after lotv and zeratul’s death, so they missed out on finding him after he woke them up

true, this was said in the High Templar of Ihan-Rii if I remember correctly

Zeratul uses Xel’naga tech, and Ihan-rii tech is based on Xel’naga tech. Zeratul doesn’t have to be in charge of any Ihan-rii for their units to look the same.
