Mastery Experience Will Not Be Refunded: Change My Mind

For some backstory

  1. When the mastery levels were first released everyone had to start at mastery level 0. I had about 500 extra games played on commanders that were already level 15. I didn’t have that experience added to the new mastery levels they made. On that same update there was an update to the achievements. Difficulty 300 and 500 were released on the update and I earned both at the same time. So here we have difficulty levels which were saved on their servers to give me achievement progress but not the experience gains for the mastery.

  2. When ascension was released on the servers, everyone also had to earn it and didn’t have any ascension levels granted to them from their past efforts.

With these two different time periods in mind, I believe there is no way for blizzard to give a refund to the mastery experience which is lost during the outbreak of bugs which is Patch 4.11.0.77379 from three days ago. Hopefully all the bugs are fixed in the next few days to come.

Why would you get credit for something you did when it didn’t even exist at the time?
Achievements and levels/XP are two different things.

Anyways, someone who posts here fairly often said in a different thread that this has happened before and we should get our XP granted later when a hotfix is applied. Hopefully they are correct in this.

Well I was credited for the achievements Hard 300 and Hard 500 on the same day of September 13, 2016. The experience was not credited. The two achievements they added along with the mastery levels were all new, its just the system had recorded only one of them and applied it automatically.

I truly hope the XP will be refunded, but does the system record it? As Donny Vermillion would say, this reporter would only guess NO.

Match history for a week or so is saved so I don’t see why they could not credit it.

:frowning:
I hope we get him and/or Kate as an announcer.

The match history only shows the stats of what happened in the game though, it also shows the Victory/Defeat. But the experience earned is not listed at all in that match history. Not even the difficulty level of the mission can be shown. Never mind if the person had an XP boost on at the time, or if they completed the bonus objective. How can they use the match history to credit the correct amount of XP missed out on if it doesn’t give any variables for it?

Also the match history only holds the past like 60 games or so, and can span up to like 8 months. So if you do a lot of co-op missions some of them cannot be viewed.

If blizzard knew that we could be retroactively credited the missing mastery exp it would be very simple for them to say as much on the forums. You give too much credit to “someone who posts here fairly often.”
