"Kill Resource" no longer works if Warcraft dependency added

Trying to re-create a custom map I’d seen and modified way back in the StarCraft: Brood War days and I’m having a hell of a time, but the big blocker right now is that it’d be very useful to have more units to be able to re-use and so adding WarCraft units seems very tempting—except that my map is relying on gaining resources from units as defined in their “Combat: Kill Resource” arrays, and much to my surprise adding the “Warcraft Classic” dependency completely breaks this. I see no warnings or errors displayed from this, but even just adding the dependency (not even adding or using any units) entirely breaks kill resources. Is there any way to solve this?
