Yeah, this was a change from patches ago. Despite them “moving to high ground”, there is no longer a need, as they are immune to lava damage.
I remember it initially came as a surprise. But ya, it’s just for show now lol.
The waves wait, yes, but if some mutations that spawn additional units or something involved, Amon’s forces travel through lava without giving any fax.
It’s because of the way the lava works, your troops take damage due to invisible units attacking them, not due to a static effect caused by the lava itself. They’re just not set to attack Amon anymore.
Which is what I call shenanigans.
