Then go play custom games, arcade games, Co-op… Ladder isn’t for you, clearly.
But by doing that, you’re practicing the exact skills you would by getting better. Shooting hoops, playing the game etc - regardless of whether you’re serious about it or not, you’re still practicing and improving just by playing.
Ultimately, the game is still just that: a game. We enjoy the game. We enjoy playing the game. We want to play more, which means we will improve. We will improve faster if we look at what we did wrong. But ultimately, it’s still a game, and one that we enjoy playing because it’s challenging, fast paced and fun, with a variety of strategies littered throughout each match.
Then play the game. There is no “easy method.” there is no “shtick” as you put it, no real “niche” that each race fits into. Each race works differently, but each race can play with any style. You can have a more positional playstyle with lurkers as Zerg, you can harass and multiprong with protoss, you can cheese and be tricky and creative with Terran. You can do anything with any race. That’s the point.
There is no fast tracking to “winning more” because winning more directly involves getting better at the game because your league will rise and the difficulty of the games will increase as a direct result of you winning more.
Whether you perceive it this way or not, the games are always fair unless you’re a bronzie being placed against a player who’s 4 leagues higher than you. At that point, there’s not much the system can do.
Ultimately, you’re going to need to find the way of playing that is the most fun for you. If you like aggression and fast paced play, play bio. If you like positional play, play mech. If you want to be tricky, cheese. Hide buildings on the map. Be cheeky. It doesn’t matter what you do, just have fun. It’s still a game.
It doesn’t matter if you suck or if you good. If you want to “Win more” as you said earlier, then it is ultimately always going to involve some form of improvement. Whether it’s innate improvement that’s a direct result of playing the game - even without looking over your replays - learning more about it by watching higher levels play… it doesn’t matter.
Regardless of whether you want to get to higher leagues, as I said earlier, the game tries to force you to 50/50 win loss ratio. And the only way you win more than that 50/50 is by simply playing and improving. That’s the very nature of the game. And this is what people have been trying to tell you.
So what if you only win 50% of the time? Just enjoy the game! If you can only enjoy the game by winning, then this probably isn’t the game for you. Nobody, not even Serral, Innovation or Stats wins 100% of the time.
