Frequent Disconnects after last patch

Has anyone else been experiencing frequent disconnects after the most recent patch? I’ve never had an issue until last week, and now I suddenly disconnect from close to 1 in 3 games I try to play on ladder. I have run tracerts and everything looks normal to all the NA and EU servers, so I’m totally stumped.

Hey Ragnarokette,

Can you provide a WinMTR test so we can pinpoint the problem?

To do this, download winMTR and type 24.105.62.129 in the “Host” field. Click start, then play for about 20 minutes after you get issues, then click on “Copy text to clipboard” and paste the results here.

I’ve been having the very same issue for a while. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of people experiencing it. ran a speed test no issues with my isp. Just seems to have started around the time the update happened. Im getting up to 3 of 3 games disconnected.

Same issue, also people in my clan having this issue.

I am also having the same problem. Game begins, goes for a while then disconnect. has happened 6 of the last tries today. Windows 10.

I tried it, followed your instructions exactly and it didnt seem to do anything. worth noting I’m not actually disconnecting proper, I get the “attempting to reconnect” box forever until I hit surrender and then everything is fine as soon as I leave the game. Still feel like something should register on this tool tho

Yep I just had a DC when I was in a great position and yesterday as well, VERY frustrating.

Ugh what the heck another two times today in like 6 games…thankfully one was unranked…I’ll download that tool…

Yes, I keep on getting disc as well. This is between the 6-8 min mark. It happens about 3 out of 5 of the games. I thought I was the only one.

Same here. After last path (which ironically made improvements to in-game network protocol which will result in smoother multiplayer games) I’m getting disconnects in about 40% of my 1v1 matches.
For what it matters it seems to be mostly when I’m playing on the East coast server. I’m on the West coast.

This is the WinMTR log during one of the disconnects again on the Eastern US server: pastebin com/SfGae5xN (I can’'t post links …)

I am also having similar issues with my game disconnecting over and over. if anyone has suggestions please let me know.

did you find a solution I have the same problem?

im now getting disconnected every single game. EVERY SINGLE GAME. please tell us theres a fix. ive notcied alot of people dropping out and i have a feeling its for the same reason.

Still happening. Not sure I wanna play anymore at this point. Can we get an update blizzard?

Thank you all for your continued reports! In order to diagnose the disconnection issues after the latest patch, we need the requested information.

So far, we’ve only had one test provided and need more information to compare the data if there is a common routing issue to the StarCraft II servers.

An important callout, connection issues are not always straight forward. Each of the disconnections here could be different causes such as network adapter issues, traffic mitigation/prioritization, packet loss and so on to the StarCraft II servers. To determine if there is an issue with a peering network, connection tests are needed. These situations can be different from one another, and will need individual diagnosis and attention. Some may need to be redirected to the Internet Provider (ISP) if the problem is found within the local network, or peering partners with the ISP since these are not always within our control to resolve.

For connection issues, it is better to start a new thread so that we can focus each individual issue first. If a trend or issue is found, we merge these threads or refer to the appropriate thread to keep it centralized to one thread.

Feel free to start up your own thread or contact our Technical Support team directly for individual assistance as needed

Hopefully, this provides some insight on our end. Thank you for your understanding and patience, everyone!

I’m losing a packet when I pathping 208.115.136.85

Thanks, BornToShred! Could you run a shorter test? It looks like this was ran for a really long time. We generally recommend the WinMTR test be ran for 10-15 minutes.
