Why on Earth do you grant ladder points for games where people insta-leave?
I can understand deducting points from the leaver, but why do you have to increase my MMR?
I played 12 games tonight (6W 6L) and FIVE of my wins were instant leavers. So I basically went 1-6, and as a result my MMR is the same, and I keep playing people that I lose to!
Great system. Getting close to just throwing games myself every time it happens but thats kind of a pain…
Yes,even +200mmr players are not so much better you instalose. In tge long run,tje amount of mmr gained through left games is reqlly small,if you play 250games per season and 15 of these games were free wins you won’t notice any difference.
Some people leaves games because they have to,others because thet don’t want to play certain matchups, and others because they want to keep their mmr low. The player pool is shared with unranked, and leaving unranked games is really easy,it almost does not affect mmr,I left many tvt because its the matchup usually I dont want to play, specially if I played against a turtle on the previous game. For unranked choosing the matchups do you want to play should be an option,it does not hurt anyone and the number of leavers would decrease.
I am 100% supporting leavers and ppl who drop their mmr. Are u in diamond and above where people can destroy you for the smallest mistake? Congratulations, u are stressed instead of having fun in a video game. Do you want to have fun and try mass sentry, workers only, PF contains, HT’s only, 300 banelings army and so on without being anihilated by someone who is 2 base all inning u ? Go drop your mmr baby, it is OK to want to have fun.
Disagree. If that was the case there would be almost no mirror match ups left or any matchup they do not like as anyone would skip them with no penalty. I would play zvt only, and would have an artificially higher mmr as it is my best match up. It is simply a bad idea if you think about it with two fingers in your forhead for more than 3 seconds
As a Diamond 2 player I have to say there is actually a LOT of leeway in Diamond when you make mistakes. Maybe it is true higher up the ladder, but usually it only takes 1 good fight to come back.
No, the resulting MMR would be 33% more precise. People have one Global MMR but rarely they have 50% winrates across all three MU.
That means that if you as Zerg with 4000MMR have:
ZvZ 50%
ZvT 60%
ZvP 40%
then your ZvZ is Dia 1 level, ZvT is Master 2 and ZvP is Dia 3.
If Blizz would implement the per-MU MMR then people would whine much less because the MMS (Match Making System) would tend to put each MU in 50% win-rate.
The whine of people that have a specific MU at 20% or 30% would disapear because they will be paired with players that are at their level and their WR would stay around 49-51%.
That could be done with a small change in the MMR algorithm.
I would like to add something in addition to this. If someone is afk for 1 minute then they are autokicked. Afkers in team games really suck. You can’t get resources from them and afkers in 1v1s are just wasting their opponents time since it takes more then 1 minute to go and kill their base. You also may not realize they are afk in one minute.
I dont think minute is enought. Sometimes you can go toilet or smh meanwhile it search and still get into game when you return even if it were started minute earlier.
